Street art was created in the early 1960s, when artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring started to use the streets as a medium. Street art began as a way for artists to reach out to the public in a revolutionary way. Street art has now become a huge part of both urban and contemporary art.

Street art is also known as graffiti, street graffiti, or urban art. Due to the fact that this form of artwork is not typically displayed or sold in galleries or museums, it is considered by many people to be vandalism and illegal. The popularity of graffiti has increased dramatically over the years and it can now be seen on almost every street corner in many cities around the world. There are several different styles of graffiti that are commonly used, such as “wildstyle,” “throw-ups,” “pieces,” and “burners.”

Street Art: The Rise of Street Art

Street Art was created by the younger generation in order to be something new, something creative and beautiful. Street art is a new way of expressing yourself. It has been used as an outlet for people to show their anger, joy, sadness and happiness. Street art is not just how we see it though. Street artists are people who create art with spray paint, stencils, markers and whatnot. They use these tools to make pictures that are colorful and express their emotions.

Street art can be anything from using spray paint on a wall to create a beautiful picture, or using the common marker on a piece of paper to write an inspiring quote. Some street artists use stencils to draw famous celebrities or quotes from movies on walls so people walking by can see them and enjoy them. Street art can be seen anywhere today whether it’s in your local town or even near your own house!

Street art is not all that bad after all; it’s actually quite beautiful and creative to make. People get wonder struck when they see different types of street art because it’s very uncommon nowadays since most people would rather stay inside watching TV than outside enjoying the beauty of nature and looking at street art.*Street art is one of the many things that helps brighten up the world

Street art, in its modern definition, is known to have existed all over the world since the early twentieth century. It was first seen in New York City, when graffiti artists used spray paint to tag walls and trains. The tags eventually became more elaborate and were called murals.

Artists who use streets as their canvas can be said to be producing street art (as opposed to graffiti).

The most famous form of street art is graffiti. Many people consider graffiti an urban blight that should be removed quickly; others consider it an art form or cultural expression that should be encouraged through legal means; still others consider it a crime that should be punished severely.

Street art has existed since ancient times. However, it’s practice and purpose have changed depending on the social, political, and cultural setting in which it was featured. In ancient Rome, for example, street art was used to promote political agendas. In modern times, it has been more widely practiced and accepted as an outlet for vandalism, guerrilla communication and self expression as well as a viable form of artistic expression.

Street art has also been known to be used in some cases as a form of advertisement. Instead of placing advertisements in newspapers or magazines or on television commercials, businesses use graffiti to advertise their products or sell their ideas.

As opposed to fine art, which is produced for galleries and museums, street art is designed for public places; walls, parks, utility boxes, etc. Street art can be created using many different media: spray paint, acrylics and oils are popular choices. Street artists tend to use bright colors, stencils and bold designs to make their artwork stand out and grab the attention of passerby’s.

In the 1970s and 1980s, graffiti writers like Tracy 168 began to add complex, layered backgrounds to their pieces, or create sculptures by painting layers of multiple colors on three-dimensional surfaces. These so-called “throw-ups” and “burners” were no longer limited to the wall surface but could be viewed from the side, adding another dimension to the art form. The pieces looked like mosaics or stained glass. This style of graffiti writing was called “wildstyle.”

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, New York graffiti writers Bekir and Zephyr painted full subway cars in what they called “full color,” or “masterpieces.” These works made use of the entire space available on a subway car, often covering all windows, then painting through to the floor in a single piece. Some of these works were done in collaboration with other writers.

Tats Cru, founded by John Joe Quiles in 1982, is also known for their large scale paintings. Many of these works make use of stencils, cut out from sheets of metal using pliers. Tats Cru painted many full subway cars in addition to other sites. Other notable graffiti crews include FUSE (founded by Cope2), ACME (founded by
