The blog that tells you why chalk paint is the best and a photoshoot. Chalk Paint has been around for quite some time now and it’s truly one of the best paint I’ve ever used. It comes in many different colors and there are a lot of styles to choose from.

Trouble-free, VOC-free chalk paint needs no prepping or priming, no sanding, no stripping, no waxing. The finish is soft and luscious–not too glossy, not too flat. It’s easy to apply with a brush or roller. No special equipment or products are needed. Just one coat covers like crazy even on dark surfaces like doors, cabinets, furniture and walls! Just one coat gives you a smooth, even finish that looks professionally done.

I love the result because it looks soft and warm! Like if I have my own painter that just painted my house!!! I am very happy with the result and I will definitely use it again when I need a new project..^_^!

I have written a lot of things about the wonders of chalk paint, and I am proud to be known as “The Superhero of All Chalk Paint” which is the title of my blog at http://www.artangels.blogspot.com . Now I want to share with you some of the things I have learned about Chalk paint.

Titania by Annie Sloan is a fantastic product that is environmentally friendly since it is made from chalk and water. It also dries to a hard finish that doesn’t need to be applied to a surface that has been sealed with shellac or polyurethane. It can be applied directly to wood, metal, plaster and even glass and ceramics. If you are wondering why it is called chalk paint, it’s because the ingredients are mainly calcium carbonate, which is what we commonly refer to as ‘chalk’.

In using this product you will find that there are some important things you should know in order to get the best results when using it:

1. The surface you have needs to be smooth so that the paint adheres well and prevents chipping or peeling off too easily. You can use sandpaper on wood surfaces and apply wax or varnish on other surfaces such as

I believe that the perfect painting method doesn’t exist. Each has pros and cons and every painter is different.

However, I do believe in an “Art-Angel”, if you will. A painting method that is so good that it has all of the pros and almost none of the cons.

Enter Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It is THE paint for working with dark woods, it is great on everything from furniture to walls, it has a wonderful texture and sheen to it, and it looks beautiful in any finish you want to give it. I love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and use it in my own craft room!

Here are a few before and after pictures of some items I have painted:

All of these pieces were painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (using a combination of Annie Sloan Soft Wax, Dark wax, and Clear Wax) on an untreated table top or chair piece!

I have been a lover of chalk paint for many years now. I am a DIY’er and love to make my own furniture and decor. I also love to paint furniture, but wanted something that had a more aged look than normal paint did. By pure chance I discovered Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint and fell in love with it immediately. It is the easiest product to use when painting, you can distress it so easily, and it looks great on all things old or new. I decided to start this blog to help others discover this amazing product, along with the rest of Annie Sloan’s line of paints, waxes and mediums. Here you will find tutorials on how to use the products, along with tips on how to achieve beautiful finishes on your projects. I love sharing information and helping others learn new ways of making their houses beautiful!

This blog is named after my nickname given to me by my husband. He calls me an “Art Angel” because he says that I am always painting, crafting or doing something artistic :)**

It is astonishing to me that some bloggers are not as excited about the new generation of chalk paint as I am. I was first introduced to it a couple months ago and have since been in love with the product. It is so easy to make your own work of art, no matter how artistic you are.

All there is to it is to buy some chalk paint (I suggest Annie Sloan Chalk Paint), grab your favorite color of wax (I suggest Annie Sloan Soft Wax), and voila! There are also tons of shades of chalk paint that you can use for your project. And if you want to go for a really unique look, use stencils!

There are some great uses for chalk paint. You can use it to update old furniture or make artwork out of simple materials such as wood and cloth. You can even use it as an awesome base coat for a project! I hope you guys like my blog about one of my favorite products, chalk paint!

There are a few things I love about chalk paint: you can mix it, you can dilute it, and you can use it on anything. Here is my favorite color from Annie Sloan.

I love how a small amount of paint goes such a long way. I have been using the same can for months and I’m just now starting to see the bottom of it!

I love that I do not need to sand or prime before painting!

I love that there are so many colors to choose from. I’ve never had any luck mixing my own colors, but Annie Sloan makes it easy for me.

Until recently, I had always used latex paint. Latex paint is great because it dries quickly, but it’s not so good because it smells and leaves behind a sticky residue. Chalk paint dries slower than latex, but the smell isn’t nearly as bad and the finish is so smooth (thanks to the wax)!

I love the wide variety of brushes that Annie Sloan sells. The synthetic bristles make all of them soft and easy to clean, even after painting with dark colors like black. I also really love using her linen brush because the bristles are really soft and they spread out really well making them easy to cover large areas quickly

The best (and most expensive) chalk paint is Farrow & Ball’s. I tried this out on a desk that was in bad shape. I cleaned it up, sanded it down, primed it and covered it with 3 coats of the F&B paint. The results were surprising: the finish is velvety smooth and the colors are fabulous. I am so happy with how this project came out!

I am also thrilled to partner with Farrow & Ball to give away a FREE quart of their popular “Marlowe” color to one lucky reader! Just fill out the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win. Good luck!”
