We have always been fascinated by famous art, and we have always wanted to possess those pieces of art. The Mona Lisa is a perfect example of this. The most famous artwork in the world is none other than the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. This piece of art is so famous that it has become an icon for France itself.

This painting was painted by Leonardo da Vinci during the Renaissance period. It depicts the portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo. It is believed that she was actually one of Leonardo’s models. The subject was not popular at the time when it was painted, but over time the painting has become extremely famous and has survived till date.

The painting is considered to be one of the best examples of Renaissance art, since it represents a great example of humanism and also shows some amazing skill with detail. Even many centuries later, experts are still in awe at the sheer talent that Leonardo showed while painting this piece.

In order to protect this masterpiece from damage, it was moved to a new location in 2012 – The Louvre Museum in Paris. It could be seen by anyone walking inside the museum; however, you can now only see it through glass display cases which are placed

The Mona Lisa, or La Gioconda as Leonardo da Vinci called it, is the most famous painting on the planet. For over 500 years audiences and art critics have been in awe of this painting that is in the Louvre in Paris. There are many facts about this painting, but there is one fact that remains a mystery to everyone- why was this painting so important to Da Vinci?

You may not be aware of this, but there are many copies of the Mona Lisa. Over fifty copies have been made of this painting by different artists, but none have the same significance as the original. Although there is only one original Mona Lisa, why is everyone so fascinated with it?

This article will explore some of the facts about the Mona Lisa as well as more recent information about who actually created it. This article will also give you an idea of why people are so interested in this painting and why many believe that there will never be another painting like it ever again.

The Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings in the world, and has been for centuries. The name itself has become synonymous with “the painting.” We do not often hear the same of the other most famous painting in the world: The Last Supper. It is likely that this is because Leonardo Da Vinci was better at marketing his masterpiece than Jesus Christ was.

Truly a masterpiece, the Mona Lisa is one of the most recognized paintings in the world, and has been for centuries. In fact, it is likely that you know what I am talking about when I say “The Mona Lisa” to you, but not when I say “The Last Supper.” This may seem weird, but then again all of art history might be a little weird to you.

It is widely believed that Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa to be his own self-portrait. This may explain why it does not depict Jesus or focus on him like many other works from this time period do; instead Da Vinci focuses on himself as he paints her portrait. It also explains why she looks so much like Da Vinci’s other self-portraits (she kind of looks like him).

The Mona Lisa, or La Gioconda (She who smiles) is a half-length portrait painting by Leonardo da Vinci that has been described as “the best known, the most visited, the most written about, the most sung about, the most parodied work of art in the world.” It is oil on a poplar panel measuring 77.2 by 53.7 cm (30.7 by 21.2 in).

The panel was perhaps cut from a slightly larger poplar panel that has not survived. The painting itself has been trimmed and extended at both sides and shows signs of restoration (the arms were reattached and the background was repainted). The Mona Lisa currently hangs in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The subject’s gaze is fixed upon the observer; an enigmatic smile plays upon her lips and her eyes seem to sparkle with secret knowledge. She is wearing a black dress with transparent white sleeves, a wide ruff and a high collar. Her blue-green bodice is decorated with pearls, in imitation of clothing worn by men of the highest rank. She does not seem to be wearing a crinoline but it appears that she may have been standing on something so that her clothes would hang naturally around her body

The Mona Lisa, in the Louvre Museum in Paris, is one the most famous paintings ever done. It’s been stolen, copied and parodied many times. But what is it really like?

The painting was done by Leonardo da Vinci in 1507. It was painted to be hung on a wall in the home of Francesco del Giocondo, a rich man who lived near Florence. The painting shows a woman sitting on a chair with her hands in her lap. She is wearing expensive clothes and jewelry that are typical for that time. The Mona Lisa can be seen as a looking glass into what people of the Renaissance thought about their world.

Remembering that people 400 years ago saw things differently from us, let’s look at some of the details. Leonardo da Vinci may have painted a mirror image of Lisa del Giocondo as if she were reflected in water—like Narcissus seeing his own reflection.

The face of the sitter has been cut off its original frame and moved slightly to the right to make room for an elaborate golden frame with flowers and fruit. A patterned cloth covers most of the table. There are two windows behind her showing countryside outside with mountains on the horizon and trees on the hillside below them

Art Attack: Banksy- This is an article that discusses the famous artist, Banksy. It talks about his art and what makes him so different and popular.

The Mona Lisa has been stolen twice and vandalized twice. The first time was in 1911, when it was taken by an Italian workman who hid it under his coat. He was caught two days later, when he tried to sell it to the Uffiza Gallery.

The second theft occurred in August of 1913. It was recovered two years later, when an Italian hotel owner named Gustavo Loppi recognized it as a famous painting his wife had stolen from him years before.

It has also been attacked twice by members of the public who felt the urge to add their own touch to this famous painting. In 1956, a woman named Mischa Bonnano decided she could improve on the Mona Lisa by adding a goatee and moustache to Leonardo’s masterpiece. Several months later, a man named Mario Buda took a can of black paint and added two horns to the top of Lisa’s head.

In both cases, the paintings were returned to their original state after the perpetrators were found and charged with damages. Buda spent six months in jail for his vandalism, while Bonnano escaped prison because she had no previous criminal record.
