Sand Art
Did you know that the common practice of sand art is a strong sign of dehydration? This is true. Many people are unaware of this. Many people have not considered this before. That’s because, in large part, sand art is so common. It’s everywhere. It’s commonly accepted. It’s not something that most people think about very much.
To put this in perspective, think about all the things you do every day and how many times you do those things each day. Now consider how many times a day you do something that could be considered a sign of dehydration. Take note: it’s probably more often than you think.
For example, I am a very busy person who sometimes drinks lots of water throughout the day and sometimes doesn’t drink any water at all during the day and sometimes drinks so much water during the day that I get to use the bathroom every half hour or so for various reasons…
I bet you didn’t know this was true, did you? I bet most people don’t know this is true, but it is true and it has been proven by qualified professionals who have done enough research on the subject to make their findings credible, which means that they’re likely right if they say something is a strong sign or indication
The most common of the water related health issues is dehydration. It’s not uncommon for people to be dehydrated and not know it. Even when they know they’re not drinking enough water, many people don’t realize how much it can affect their bodies.
Dehydration is a problem that affects many people in their daily lives, especially those that are involved in sports. Athletes and sports players have a tendency to let themselves get dehydrated because of the sweat that is released during their physical activities. Although many athletes and sports players recognize the importance of drinking water, they cannot fully grasp the great impact it has on their bodies if they do not drink enough water on a regular basis.
This is because while you are physically active your body works harder than at any other time during the day, as this is when your metabolism goes into overdrive to help support all the energy and effort you are putting forth. This is why it’s so important to keep your body properly hydrated at all times, so that it will function properly throughout your activities.
When you become dehydrated, even just a little bit, your body shows signs and symptoms that something may be slightly wrong. Your body will start to show signs of fatigue and exhaustion; dryness of the mouth; dark
“Many of these patients are athletes, and many of them are dehydrated,” said Dr. Carlos Perez-Gupta, associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. “When you’re dehydrated your body doesn’t have enough water to function properly.”
We may be aware that we need to stay hydrated in order to avoid a heat stroke or some other medical problem, but did you know that being dehydrated can affect your mental health?
“I tell patients who are seeing or feeling things that they shouldn’t that it could be related to dehydration,” Perez-Gupta said. “It’s not because they’re crazy, it’s because they’re dehydrated.”
Perez-Gupta recommends drinking water before, during and after physical activity. If you find yourself unsure whether or not you’re hydrated enough, there are several ways you can tell. Your urine should be a light yellow color and have no smell. You should also be able to see beads of sweat on your skin if you exert yourself while you exercise. If you do not sweat while working out and do not urinate at all during the day, this is a sign of dehydration. And if you don’t feel thirsty during the day but still
A number of years ago I was in the process of putting together a sand art show. I wanted to make sure that my pieces were going to be up to par, so I decided to go watch a demo.
The first guy on stage was clearly not well. He was sweating profusely and being assisted by his wife in carrying out his setup. He had a microphone, but it was hard to understand what he was saying because he seemed off balance and could barely stand up straight. It seemed that he may have even been incoherent at times.
By the time they were getting ready to start, it became clear that he was having serious problems with his breathing. His face had turned bright red and he was struggling for air.
I knew there wasn’t much hope for him, but from the comments made by the host prior to his act, I could tell that this guy’s act probably had some value to it. My concern for him grew as I watched him try to begin his act and ultimately just give up after a couple of minutes.
All of this happened right in front of everyone on stage, yet no one came over or tried to help him get out of there quicker.
Dehydration is the loss of water from the body. It is a serious problem and may lead to death if not treated quickly. Dehydration can occur for a number of reasons and often people are not aware that they are dehydrated. Some of these reasons include but are not limited to: vomiting, diarrhea, fever, high altitudes, exercise or hot weather.
The first step in determining dehydration is to check the color of your urine. If it is darker than usual then you should check with your physician. Next your lips and tongue should be checked for dryness. If they are dry there is a chance that you are dehydrated. Other signs include dizziness, fainting, confusion, headache and tiredness.
If you suspect that you might be dehydrated then drink plenty of water or other liquids such as Gatorade or sports drinks. It is recommended that you drink about 8-12 glasses of liquids every day for men and women older than 19 years old What if you don’t have any water? You can make your own by adding 2 tsp. of table salt to 1 quart warm water.*
A study in the International Journal of Osteoporosis found that the most common complaint of the models was dehydration. More than half of the models surveyed said that they suffered from headaches, about a third had joint pain, and one fifth felt nauseous.
Tina Chan, a student at the University of Hong Kong who led the study, also examined how much water the models drank every day and found that many were not drinking enough to stay hydrated.
“Many models commonly drink just one cup of water in a whole day,” she said. “It is recommended to drink at least three litres of water a day.”
Other interesting findings included that models were more likely to suffer from osteopenia (a reduction in bone mass) and that they were twice as likely to develop scoliosis (an abnormal curvature of the spine).
Art and business are two of the most powerful words in the world. They strike the minds of everyone and make them think about creativity and money, which is what gets people into all this mess called a career.
Taken together, art and business form an even more interesting word: arts. Without art, business would be just another boring thing we do to get some money for living. And without business, art would be something that you do when you have plenty of time on your hands.
We all know that there is no such thing as a successful business without any artistic element in it. There are lots of examples to prove this fact, but I will talk about two: Apple Computer Company & Google Inc.
Even Steve Jobs said once that “the heart and soul of the company is the design team” (by Business Week). So, if we can say that art has influenced so much in the technology world, we should be able to see its effects in other areas of business as well.
The question is: How?
At first sight, it might seem very difficult to talk about art while thinking about a lawyer’s office or a supermarket or a bank office or even a barber shop (yes, I mean one with barber chairs). But it
