This is a blog about minecraft art and how to incorporate plans or have a lesson plan around this fun game. We will be adding more information as time goes on. This site is for teachers and parents looking for ways to integrate minecraft into the classroom. I have also found many other bloggers that use minecraft in their classrooms, which can be accessed through the links at the top of the page or on the right side of this blog. I am always looking for more great ideas to add to this site, so if you know of any please leave a comment and let me know!

I have been playing minecraft for years and have developed a variety of lesson plans around the game. I would like to share them with you.

These lessons were developed by me, Mrs. Shafer, as a seventh grade language arts teacher at Lima Middle School in Lima, Ohio. I am now a second year middle school ELA teacher at Chartiers-Houston School District in Pittsburgh, PA. I would like to thank Mr. William Fraser for the use of his awesome Minecraft art program springboard (http://www.springboard4teachers.com/MinecraftArtClass) which inspired this blog.

My goal is to provide a variety of lesson plans/plans from my own classroom that I can use in my own classroom or that anyone else can use in their own classrooms anywhere!

I am a teacher and I would like to incorporate minecraft in my art class for all of my classes. I also want to teach other teachers how to do this as well.

I want to find some sort of lesson plan, plan, or idea so that I can teach this to other teachers and administrators. I am looking for a blog or website that will give me some ideas on how to do this. Something with videos or pictures that show how to set up a server, or ways to incorporate it into the classroom.

I will be posting a series of picture plans and lesson plans around working with Minecraft in the classroom. I will have posts on purpose and design, as well as links to other Minecraft art resources.

I would love to start a discussion about using Minecraft in the classroom. Please feel free to comment on any posts, or drop me an email at teachart@uwec.edu if you have any questions, comments or concerns about using minecraft in the classroom.**

Heres another essay outline:

Name:How to make a song

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Mrs.Baker and this is my first year teaching at Oakdale Elementary School. I am very excited to be working with the Minecraft Art Class. This class will be a unique opportunity for the students to explore their creativity and design skills using the game Minecraft as a launch pad for their artistic endeavors.

Tentatively, we will meet once a week in the computer lab in order to take advantage of all the tools available to us through this game. Students will also be able to work on their projects at home using Minecraft as a creative outlet.

I am hoping that students who attend this class will gain some valuable life skills such as problem solving, perseverance, organization, research, responsibility, and collaboration. They will also have an opportunity to develop an appreciation for art and design by learning about great artists from history and present day artists who use Minecraft as their medium of expression.

I look forward to seeing you in class!

Minecraft has become a powerful tool for artists to use in the classroom. What was once just a game, is now a great way to teach students about Architecture, Design and even Technology.

I love Minecraft. I also love teaching art to kids (and I’m also a teacher). So, naturally, I decided to combine the two! What better way to teach about light and shadow than to have your students build a giant sunflower with the light streaming in through it’s petals? Or have them build something green and leafy, hiding the sky so that it looks like the sun is out?

These are just a couple of my ideas; if you have others or want to share your own creations, send me a tweet or comment on this post. Enjoy!**
