This is the pipe that I made for my steampunk look. Of course, I can’t just wear a pair of glasses and a pocket watch; that’s not enough. I need to have a pipe, too.

I used many different kinds of materials to create this pipe. It has an acrylic body, with wooden accents and a metal bowl. The mouthpiece is bakelite. The pipe cleaner is copper-colored enameled copper wire wrapped around an old piece of copper tubing and then soldered in place. To make the mouthpieces, I cut the top part of an old spring out of some old computer parts; it was small enough to fit perfectly into the acrylic body, and large enough to provide support for the soldered mouthpiece, which makes it easier to clean without falling out on its own.

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

I have always wanted to have a pipe in my hands, but I never had the patience to smoke. I got the idea of making such a pipe, first seen on the net, and then I came up with an entire steampunk style look for it.

This is how I made one.

Steampunk is a genre of science fiction set in the Victorian era. The term “steampunk” was coined by K. W. Jeter, who felt that the genre had been inspired by the works of William Gibson, Bruce Sterling, and other writers of the cyberpunk movement. Steampunk art is a kind of retro-futuristic art style which draws upon the aesthetics of 19th century industrial steam-powered machinery.

Tutorials and guides on how to make steampunk art are plentiful and they include making designs on your body using permanent tattoos or temporary henna tattoos, as well as making things with leather and wood, such as jewelry and clothing. There are also steampunk props or accessories which can be used for photography or for decorating one’s home or house. For instance, you could make a paper plane to use for decoration or something larger like an umbrella stand or even a ship’s wheel. You can also make lamps out of old light bulbs and create your own steampunk furniture from wood. You can also try making steampunk dolls’ houses

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century. Steampunk works are often set in an alternative history of the 19th century’s British Victorian era or American Wild West, in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power.

Steampunk perhaps most recognizably features anachronistic technologies or retro-futuristic inventions as people in the 19th century might have envisioned them, and is likewise rooted in the era’s perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. Such technology may include fictional machines like those found in the works of H.G. Wells and Jules Verne.

Truly beautiful steampunk creations are made with attention to detail and are often made from antique parts from old clocks and watches that have been carefully polished and cleaned so they look brand new.

You will need to get some copper tubing. The size of copper tubing that you need will depend on the size of the pipe you want. You can use a wooden dowel rod or other hardwood as a core for the center of the pipe. Make sure that it is large enough to fit snugly inside the pipe. You should also use a hardwood or metal plug to hold in place at the end of your dowel rod.

Tightly wrap your copper tubing around your dowel rod, forming an elongated tube. Tuck the ends into the middle of the tube and make sure that they stay there. If you want to create a double-layered pipe, you can do this by using a smaller diameter piece of copper tubing and wrapping it around your first layer of tubing to form an even larger cylindrical shape.

Now that you have your basic pipe completed, you can add whatever decorative touches you wish. You can add additional pieces of wood or other materials, or you can use special gaskets to create an airtight seal between each section of pipe. If you want to create a more rounded look for your pipe, simply wrap tape around it until it forms the shape that pleases you most.

You’ll need the following:

Stainless steel pipe- I used 1/2 inch stainless steel plumbing pipe. I found my pipe in the plumbing section of a hardware store, but you might be able to find it at a specialty metal shop. It is also sometimes called “black iron” or “sewer pipe.” Stainless steel may seem like overkill for a pipe, but as you will soon see, this totally unnecessary and it was just what I had on hand. You can also find stainless steel in lots of places such as your kitchen sink.

Pipe fittings- I used an elbow joint and a union joint to connect the cane to the chamber. Union joints are those things that look like an oversized plus sign with three holes in it. You can see them, along with elbows and all kinds of other stuff, at your local hardware store or online at: http://www.mcmaster.com/

Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery set in an alternate history Victorian (and later Edwardian) era. Steampunk works are often set in a post-apocalyptic future during which steam power has regained mainstream use, or in a fantasy world that similarly employs steam power. The term denotes works set in an era “past” the steam age, when both steam power and mechanical computers are envisioned as being advanced. It is similar to cyberpunk, but more optimistic.
