Learning to play the guitar is probably one of the most popular and challenging musical instrument in the world. It is also one of the most rewarding ones. For me, learning how to play it was one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life.
The road to learn how to play a guitar is an interesting journey, which can be long or short depending on how much time you spend practicing and learning. But how long exactly does it take to learn how to play guitar? And what are some tips that I learned along the way? Let’s find out together!
How long it will take you depends on a few factors:
– How often do you practice?
– What are you practicing? (Different skills take different times)
– How much experience do you already have with playing musical instruments?
The first thing to know is that it is not possible to learn how to play a guitar in one day. But you can be playing the guitar after a few weeks of practice.
Learning the guitar takes time, and there are things that you can do to make it faster. It takes an average of 20 hours of practice to learn how to play a guitar. However there are things that can make it faster.
I have seen a number of tutorials on How to Play Guitar, but none of them really answer the question. Most of them seem to assume that the person reading wants to learn some popular song or is trying to impress someone. These are both fine goals, but I am looking for a different set of answers. For example, I want to know how long it will take me to learn the basics and be able to play some songs. Should I get lessons? Do I need an amp? What else do I need? The main reason for this post is that I have a guitar sitting in my room with no strings on it. The other reason is that I can’t figure out how many weeks or months I should expect it to take me before I can play something recognizable on the guitar.
I am not looking for answers like “If you practice 4 hours a day then you will be able to play Stairway To Heaven in 5 years.” That doesn’t answer my question at all; it just shows that this person has no idea what they’re talking about. His findings suggest that, in general, it takes about 5 years of practice to become a skilled musician (defined as someone who has spent 10 hours per week on their instrument and can perform a difficult piece of music).

Fast or Slow?

1) The instrument you choose.
2) How much time you have available.
For example, if you decide to take piano lessons then you can expect it will take longer than if you choose guitar lessons. If your only option is one hour per day then it will take longer than if you have 3 hours available each day. There are no hard and fast rules here but these are some general guidelines that may help when deciding what is right for you:
Guitar – 1-3 months (
The best guitarists are good at learning, and they have lots of time to practice. But they don’t spend all their time practicing.
They spend a lot of time doing other stuff, like figuring out how to get better faster.
I’m talking about guitar because that’s what I’ve been learning. But you could replace the word “guitar” with whatever it is you want to learn, and the thought experiment would still be a good one.
