In this drawing tutorial, I’ll be showing you how to draw the anime version of a girl in a kimono. She’s wearing a traditional Japanese kimono and holding a fan.

Although this tutorial is aimed at beginners, there are some tips here that even experienced artists can learn from.

When I first started drawing as a child I was living in the English countryside. I remember one of my first attempts to draw a tree, so I go out into the garden and start to draw the first tree that I see. It was a normal sized tree, but the end result looked like a really thick branch with lots of leaves on it.

Art is not just about talent or luck. You can learn many techniques that will help you create your own beautiful pieces of art that everyone will admire.

The first thing you should do is decide what kind of drawing you’re going to do. You can choose between portrait drawing, landscape drawing or figure drawing. If you’re new to art then start off with something easy like a landscape.

Most people find it difficult to start drawing because they don’t know where to begin. Well, this is actually very easy, once you get the hang of it! All you have to do is look for the basic shapes in whatever you are trying to draw and then connect them together by using lines that flow smoothly from one shape to another. The more practice you have at this simple technique, the easier it will become for you and before long, you won’t even need to think about it anymore!

When looking at your subject

This is the first sketch I’ve done in a long time. I really need to stop procrastinating and draw more often. It always helps me feel less frustrated with my art, and makes me want to keep drawing more.

Tried out some new techniques today, including using a bamboo brush for adding lines instead of a pencil, and using a calligraphy pen for the shading.

I also started doing some coloring work. I’m experimenting with three different styles right now: cross hatching (which is very time consuming), gradients/shading (which look cool but aren’t as smooth as I’d like), and flat colors (just boring).
