Titanic is a famous movie. It was created by the famous director James Cameron. Titanic was a very popular movie in 1997. The actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet took part in it. My favourite movie is Titanic, because I like all what there is in this film: love story, historical events, romance and other features of this wonderful film.
In my essay I want to tell you about the creation of this movie and its director.
James Cameron was born on August 16, 1954 in Kapuskasing, Ontario (Canada). He studied at Fullerton College in California and at California State University Northridge where he graduated with a major in physics. After graduating from university he worked for an oil company for seven years as a technician and later as a computer programmer. In 1977 he went to work for an effects company which produced visual effects for science-fiction films. Among these films were “Star Wars” (1977) and “Alien” (1979). This experience made him realize that his real desire was to become a filmmaker. He wrote many scripts but could not find any producer who would finance them. In 1979 he left his job and moved to Hollywood with his wife Linda Hamilton where they lived together until their divorce in 1987.

The process of creation of this masterpiece lasted a long time. It began when the scriptwriter and director James Cameron, having watched the famous movie “Doctor Zhivago”, has decided that he can make a better picture. But since he had no money for it, he could only dream about such a grandiose project. His wife, on the contrary, was ready to support him in his idea. She offered to sacrifice their house if it would be necessary for realization of this plan. And already it seemed that their dream will be realized, because Cameron got acquainted with the producer and got fifty million dollars from him for shooting of “Titanic”.
The movie “Titanic” was the biggest commercial success in the cinema history, and has received many awards. But what was its real value?
The film “Titanic” is the most expensive film in the world. It is a domestic American production that has been filmed at sea on real ships and with the participation of many Hollywood stars. The budget of the film was more than 200 million dollars, which, if you compare to other films, is considered an astronomical figure. In comparison, the average film has a budget of $30-40 million.
The director James Cameron had a very difficult task. He had to make up an interesting script, find money for its realization, make all participants play their roles fantastically and make it spectacular enough to ensure an audience’s interest.
But having watched this film we can say that he coped with his task brilliantly!

The best art of all time is the movie “Titanic”. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the film, which was created in 1997, is its music. The main theme of this picture has become so popular that most people know it and sing it. The hymn “My Heart Will Go On” performed by Celine Dion with the orchestral arrangement by James Horner become a widespread hit for the past 15 years and became a real phenomenon in pop music.
The soundtrack of this movie includes also other songs such as “Nearer My God To Thee” performed by Tenor José Carreras, “Draw Me” performed by Sinead O’Connor and “Crazy” performed by Seal. At the same time, the film has a wonderful plot and actors’ play.
It is important to note that it was made at a high cost: $200 million. Despite this fact, it gathered $2.18 billion during its first run and became the second highest-grossing movie all over the world after Titanic 2, which was created in 2012.
