Why do we have art? I think that is the wrong question. Art brings us into the realm of imagination, is an avenue for creativity, a vehicle for self expression, a source of insight about ourselves and our world. Art enlightens us and gives us inspiration to be more fully human.

Truly great art uplifts us and makes us feel good about life. We often forget that art also has a role in our everyday lives to make each day special and add joy to every moment by creating a sense of wonder and awe.

The art of making people feel special is found in many forms. It can be as simple as a thoughtful gift or compliment or as grand as giving someone a once in a lifetime experience. I hope you will share your experience with me so that we can all enjoy the magic of feeling special.*

Gratitude is a word that is thrown around a lot but do we really know what it means? Do we all show gratitude in the same way? I don’t think so.

I have been thinking about this a lot lately because of art and how it makes me feel. I love art; it is one of my favorite things to do. It can be an experience for me both physically and emotionally. I usually go on dates with my husband to art galleries or museums or even just walking around looking at murals on the walls or windows of buildings. This is something that does not bring him joy; however, he tries to tolerate it because he knows how much I enjoy it.

But art isn’t just paintings or sculptures, it can also be found in nature. A rainbow, the sun rising over the water, a field of flowers, leaves falling…something as simple as the way a tree looks can make me stop and stare in amazement at its beauty.

The reason why I love showing my gratitude towards art is because it allows me to appreciate life more. It gives me hope and brings color into my life where there may have been some gray days. Whenever I see something extraordinary I am reminded that these moments should be appreciated and not taken for granted
