To those who believe that art is something that, by definition, only certain people can make and understand, I have bad news for you. In fact, the opposite is true. Art is something that just about anyone can try to make and appreciate, no matter their skill level or background. The key is to find a medium or technique you’re comfortable with, then jump right in and start creating.

Rock painting is a great activity for kids! It’s easy to set up and you can do it anywhere there is a rock outside. Just look around your backyard or park and you are sure to find some rocks that will work nicely for this project.

Tossing some paint on a rock is a great way to get kids out of the house and getting creative! They can choose their own colors or you can help them pick out colors that will enhance the natural colors in the rocks. There are no right or wrong answers here, just let them go wild and have fun with it!

You can even use this same technique to create rocks for your garden or potted plants in your house. This would also be a lot of fun to do as a family during a weekend camping trip. Just paint the rocks at home and then find somewhere safe to hide them until you are ready to reveal your little surprise later that day when everyone gets back from fishing or hiking or whatever

A lot of people are intimidated by the idea of making art. They think that only “artists” can make art, and that if they try to do it themselves but aren’t good at it, they’re somehow not really artistic.

Thing is, if you’re making something just for fun, you don’t have to be any good at it. It’s all about the process, not the product. When I was a kid, I took an art appreciation class in which we were taught to draw a still life. It was terrifying! The teacher had us all drawing these intricate outlines and shading them in with perfect detail. Meanwhile, my doodles were always off-center and looked like scribbles.

But I didn’t care! It was fun. And the teacher made me feel better about my drawings by telling me they were unique; that no one else would ever draw a drawing quite like mine! That’s what is so important about art: the process of making it is way more important than how good your final product ends up looking.
