To be successful with art you need to be able to get people’s attention, get your work seen, and sell your art. These are the three basic elements for being a successful artist. It does not matter how good you are if no one is seeing your work. Having a bunch of talent and nobody knows about it is like having no talent at all.

The art world is an intensely competitive place where everyone wants to be noticed. You have to stand out above everyone else. Here are ten tips on how to get noticed in the art world with links to each tip.

Being a artist is not easy…the big question is how do you get noticed? Well, there are many ways to get noticed in the art world. There are many opportunities that might never come your way.

Trying to make it as a successful artist is one of the toughest things you will do. You must be persistent and tenacious!

Tip

Somebody once told me that to be successful with art you need: 1) Talent, 2) Hard Work, 3) A lot of Luck, 4) Being in the right place at the right time.

I’m not sure if I agree with all of that but it is a good starting point for discussion.

Talent is something innate you are born with and you can’t really change it much no matter how hard you try. I have seen so many people trying to be artists who have absolutely no talent in art and wonder why they are not successful.

The next thing is hard work. This is something we all need to be successful at whatever we do in life. You can’t expect to become a great artist without putting in the hours of hard work. It takes years of practice, dedication and commitment.

But what about tip number 3? What about being in the right place at the right time? Well this is certainly still true for most successful artists today. They were ‘in the right place at the right time’ when they started out on their career as an artist or photographer or writer or musician etc., or else they would never have been given that break that made them famous and successful.

In my opinion tip number 4 is also very important

Starting out your journey as an artist can be a very difficult task. After all, you have to create your own market and your own niche in an already crowded industry. It’s hard because there are so many ways to go about it. But if you keep on working hard and stay positive, you can achieve great things for yourself as an artist.

Art is what you make of it. If you want to become successful in the art world, then you will have to work hard at it. You will have to push past your fears and insecurities, and learn how to deal with rejection while still continuing to improve yourself as an artist.

You will also have to accept that the art business is not always a fair one, but that doesn’t mean that you just give up because of that fact. Learn how to be resilient in the face of adversity, and keep on doing what you love no matter what happens around you.

There are many people who have a great time with art. There are many people who don’t have a great time with art, but have a good time anyway, and can make a good living from art. And there are many people who hate art, so much so that they would rather do anything else besides art.

The question is: Why? Why does the same activity cause such difference in different people?

The answer: motivation. The reason why some people love art is because they feel the need to create art. They feel that it is part of their life. They feel that their life would be incomplete without it. In other words, they really care about it, and they really need it to be successful at life.

But not everyone feels that way about art. Some people just do it because they like doing it, or they think it will make them look cool if they do it, or they are just doing it because that’s what their family did before them. Those last two reasons are nice and all but they are not enough to keep you going when times get tough, which they invariably do in your pursuit of becoming an artist.

These reasons can help you survive as an artist but no more than that. If you don’t have the motivation
