What is Banana Art? Banana Art is a type of music art that has been slowly developing over the last decade. The name “Banana Art” was first coined by the artist Kalle Mattsson in 2003. Now, the Banana Art phenomenon has spread far beyond Finland and even Europe and has become a global internet movement.
The most common use of Banana Art is in album art but it can be used in many ways. You can use it to decorate your bedroom or even your car. It can be used as a greeting card and even as a wedding invitation!
It is easy to get started with banana art! Here are 10 simple steps to design your own banana art album cover the right way:
1) Choose an album you like for inspiration. 2) Gather bananas, preferably yellow bananas… 3) Start cutting the bananas into interesting shapes… 4) Arrange them on paper and tape them down if you want to… 5) Add some color… 6) Create an interesting composition… 7) Add some text… 8) Print and cut out the cover from glossy photo paper… 9) Attach it to an old record cover (a CD will do too)… 10) Enjoy your masterpiece!
If you’re designing a Banana Art album cover, it’s important that you remember to use the right principles. If you don’t, your album cover may not look good. If it doesn’t look good, sales will suffer. In this article I’m going to lay out the 10 steps to designing an album cover that uses the right principles and looks good!
1) Identify your target market. Who exactly are you making this album for? Are they indie gamers? Soccer moms? Businessmen? Make sure that you’re designing something that appeals to them.
2) Use typography wisely. Typography is a powerful way of getting information across. It can also be used to help people identify with the music, like if you make an unreadable font and then have it translated at the end of the song, people might be able to relate to how confusing emotions can be sometimes.
3) Go crazy with parallax scrolling effects! Parallax scrolling effects are the most visually appealing thing since sliced bread! Use them on every single page of your site!
4) Don’t fear color! Color is a great way of getting someone’s attention, especially if you make it bright and gaudy like in this example here. People will just eat that
1. Select the Right Background
As you probably know, there are several types of banana. The most common ones are the yellow, red or green ones, but there are also brown bananas and purple ones. These exotic varieties can be used as an eye-catching background for your album cover.
According to designer SJ Miller, “the most important thing about using bananas as an album cover is that it is not just any plain old banana.” You can still see the fruit at its core, but you must add a twist to it. Placing the banana peel at an angle will give a more dynamic feel to your album cover and allow you to enjoy more contrast with light and shadow. It will also help you make a greater impact with a beautiful piece of work while keeping it minimalistic.
__Alternatively, if you want to create something very creative, then try this: start by cutting a hole in the middle of a yellow banana and then place it on your album cover. This interesting design element will make your album stand out from others because no one has ever seen anything like this before!__
The green skin of the red banana is another good option for creating an album cover that really stands out from the crowd. As well as being unique, this option contrasts ex
What you are going to do is create your own album cover. It should look like any other album cover, with a title, a picture of the artist and some information about the artist. The difference will be that it will be made entirely out of bananas.
The steps are as follows:
1. Create a black and white sketch of what you want your final design to look like. It should include the title and the picture of the artist.
2. Create a collage with bananas cut into different shapes, so that it looks like the sketch you have just created.
3. Cut out a banana to use as a template for all the other bananas in your design. This banana should represent an important part of your design, such as the face or an object in the picture. Then cut out all other bananas using this template so they match it exactly in size, shape and colour.
4. Arrange all the bananas on your surface (e.g., table). Place them however you want as long as they follow the design of your sketch/template banana.
5. Take lots of pictures! (at least 20)
6. Clean up your table and put everything away safely before leaving to prevent pests or spoiling.
I’m guessing that you’re a musician and that you’ve got an album coming out. Your album is going to be the best thing in the history of forever! But before you start telling people how awesome it is, I suggest that you give your album a proper name. You know, kind of like calling it “Super Great Album” doesn’t really work (no offense).
Here are some tips to help you come up with a kick-ass name for your next album. For this exercise, I will use the name “Banana Art” as an example
1. Find an adjective that describes your music genre well and add it to the end of the word “banana”.
2. Use Google’s thesaurus to come up with more words related to banana. Add them all to the end of banana.
3. Use Urban Dictionary to find words not related directly to banana but somehow still describe your music genre quite well. Add them all to the end of banana as well.
4. Come up with a descriptive word or phrase that is somehow related to bananas and your music genre, such as “sweet”, “rocking”, or “slammin'”, and add it directly behind banana in alphabetical order*. If there isn’t a
First, what makes a good album cover?
The purpose of the album cover is to draw people in. If your design doesn’t attract attention, it won’t do its job. Good design is about communicating an idea clearly and quickly. Great design does that in a way that is surprising and compelling.
The most basic principle of good design is to make sure your design idea is reflected throughout the entire layout. A good design communicates a single concept clearly and completely. You want one idea per layout, even if it’s an idea that’s repeated (and nuanced) over many variations.
The principles of design are so simple, it’s easy to forget them when you’re actually working on a project. So here they are:
1. When in doubt, leave it out.
2. Use the simplest possible image.
3. Contrast is king.
4. Repetition is a must (but don’t overdo it).
5. Don’t use more than 2 fonts in the same piece (unless you’re trying to be retro).
6. Use images and text that are appropriate to each other.
7. Less is more (but only if you can’t figure out how to make it more).
8. White space is crucial to any design (especially your album cover).
9. Make sure your design is effective no matter what size or medium it’s viewed at (for instance, if you have a small logo on your CD cover, but blow it up for your poster, you’ve failed).
10. Your design should work with or without color (after all, black and white photos are pretty cool).
