Artist Insights

  • Mason Bryant
  • Lulu Goldman

Mason Bryant, a Weinberg senior, submitted a series of three charcoal drawings as a final project for an Introduction to Drawing class. The drawings are a linear series and a visual representation of a song he wrote about having difficulty expressing important things. “There’s an approach where you can outline the negative space of the thing you’re trying to express, and then you can create an outline of the thing you’re trying to say,” Bryant said. Lulu Goldman, a Weinberg senior, visited the Kresge basement to see her work hung on the walls. She submitted a couple of pieces to the show, including still lifes and landscapes that she completed in an Advanced Topics and Paintings: The Immediacy of Painting class. Goldman said she submitted the pieces she liked the most, and they happened to be more emotive than some of her other works.
