The National Gallery of Modern Art houses the largest collection of European art from the period 1850-1950. It’s been in operation since 1977 and is located in a beautiful building that once was a prison. It’s now one of the most popular museums in the city and serves as a bookstore, souvenir shop and cafeteria.
Ticket prices: The entry fee for adults is 6 euros, an extra 2 euros if you want to take pictures. If you plan on visiting the museum more than once be sure to check out their many membership packages. For children ages 7-18, entry costs 3 euros and free for those ages 6 and under.
