The National Gallery of Modern Art was inaugurated in 2011 and has been designed by Indian architect Charles Correa. It is located at the C-Hexagon in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The gallery houses the permanent collection of paintings by renowned modern artists such as M.F Husain, Tyeb Mehta, S.H Raza, Akbar Padamsee, V S Gaitonde, Krishen Khanna, Jogen Chowdhury among several others whose works are on display there.

The New National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi, India is the largest museum of modern arts. It was inaugurated by the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan singh on December 19, 2004 and is located on the corner of Janpath and Maulana Azad Road, just opposite to the India Gate.
The museum is spread over three floors and has a total area of 11,000 square meters. The galleries of the museum consist of six sections which are- Sculpture, Painting, Graphics, Photography & Video, Applied Arts and Crafts. All the galleries are air-conditioned and have a seating capacity for 80 people at a time. The gallery flooring is made up of glass panels with wooden frames which can be easily opened or closed according to the changing requirements.
The main entrance consists of two huge escalators that take visitors directly to the first floor where there are many paintings arranged by chronological order as well as a gift shop and an auditorium which can accommodate around 180 people at a time.

The NGMA is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm from Monday through Saturday and from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays. The entry fee for Indians is Rs.10/-, whereas foreigners are charged Rs.100/-.
