The time is the late 1930s. The place, a small town in Europe. A little boy and his father are walking through the center of town on a brisk fall day. The boy looks up and sees a poster on the side of a building announcing the latest movie playing at the local theater. He stops to look more closely at the poster, which is larger than any he has seen before. It shows an exotic looking woman with dark hair wearing a revealing bathing suit on a beach covered with palm trees. She stares seductively into the distance, while a man in a white diving suit admires her from behind as he leans back against one of the palms.
The little boy had seen smaller versions of this poster many times before; after all, it is one of Hollywood’s classics. But this was his first encounter with an oversized wall poster, and it would change his life. He would grow up to be an artist himself and create oversized wall art posters of his own.
