Most modern artists and designers create a unique style or form. However, there are artists that have been creating works of traditional art since before recorded history began. Traditional art can be as simple as a drawing on cave walls, or it can be a complex painting on an expensive canvas with an elaborate frame. 1. The Louvre Abu Dhabi

The Louvre Abu Dhabi will be the largest museum in the Middle East when it opens next year. Originally intended to open in 2015, problems with construction pushed back the opening date to 2019. A wide variety of traditional mediums have been used throughout history and around the world, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography and more. The definition of traditional art is up for debate. Is traditional art something that is made with a specific medium? Is it made by a specific artist? Does it have to be old in order to be considered “traditional”?

We’re here to tell you about three events that are coming up in 2019 that celebrate traditional artwork from the past and present. Unlike the other events on this list, these events are not in the main exhibit hall; however, they are well worth seeing!

1.     “The Art of Giving” at the Renwick Gallery: This exhibit will run from January 10 th through March 17 th . It will feature work by artists who specialize in abstract, conceptual or interactive works that focus on giving and receiving. Visitors can also expect to see works created using materials like yarn, paper or found objects.

The first event is the Museum of Fine Arts Boston’s exhibition “Vincent van Gogh: The Drawings.” It runs from 24 Jan 2019 to 8 May 2019. This exhibition is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh that have never been on display before. The drawings have been loaned from the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia. You will not want to miss this opportunity to see them.

The second event is the publication of a book by Gail Levin called “Van Gogh: The Life”. It is scheduled for publication on 10 Feb 2019. This will be a definitive biography of Vincent van Gogh, written by someone who knows her subject well as she has already written three biographies of Vincent van Gogh in addition to being an authority on him. As 2019 approaches and everyone is making lists of their hopes and dreams for the New Year, it’s time to make a list of art events that have been planned for the new year. Art is ever evolving and as the world turns, so does the art world.

In this list we will be including 3 events that will be held in 2019. These events are a mixture of traditional and modern art, so there is something for everyone.

New York City offers a great selection of art galleries and art exhibitions. When planning your New Year’s holiday, consider visiting one (or more) of the following top 3 events.

To give you an idea of what each event offers, I have included the official description from each organization’s website.

First up: The Armory Show, an annual art exhibition that was founded in 1997 and takes place in March every year. For 2019, it will be held at Pier 94 in New York City from March 5 through March 9. This is a “new contemporary” exhibition that features works from over 120 artists from 29 countries around the world. You can view abstract paintings and sculptures, photography, video installations, performance pieces and more. Participating artists include Ai Weiwei, Kehinde Wiley, Jenny Holzer and many others.

The Armory Show is not to be missed if you are interested in seeing emerging artists and new ideas; past shows have featured work by Marina Abramovic and Jeff Koons.

Traditional art stands out in a way that is not immediately obvious. Traditional art is mostly created within a traditional setting, with traditional mediums and traditional styles. The most common forms of traditional art include painting and sculpture, but also include more niche forms of artistic expression such as glassblowing, pottery and even blacksmithing.
