The genre has and continues to be a major influence on American music as a whole but at the same time, its popularity is nowhere near what it once was. Is this an almost cyclical occurrence? Or is country music finally on its way out? I’d argue that country music isn’t dying, just changing. Like any art form that has survived as long as country music has, it will continue to evolve and adapt in order to survive and this year was no different.
