The Male Figure in Illustrations is about me doing what I love: drawing men. Thank you for checking it out!

I also have a Twitter account @Pete_Clayton where I tweet about my art and life in general. If you’d like, follow me there as well!

I wanted to share with you my new blog, where I will be sharing professional illustration and tutorials of male figures. Feel free to follow me on my illustrative journey.

Photography is like painting but with a camera. The painter’s job is to create life with the use of pigment and canvas; the photographer’s job is to create life with the use of light, lens, and film. In both cases, great skill is required to produce an end result that looks effortless.

The male figure is far more difficult to draw than a female figure because it requires greater skill and knowledge in drawing. I find that the male figure has a greater range of poses and emotions, more detail and texture than a woman.

I use many old photographs as references for my drawings because they are the best source for body proportions. I also look at paintings by old masters such as Michelangelo and study anatomy books for construction details such as hands, feet and foreshortening.

This blog will show examples of my work, along with some tips and resources on drawing the male figure.”

Hi, I’m a freelance illustrator and I love drawing male figures! My aim is to create inspirational art that you can enjoy in your everyday life.

I have a passion for drawing the male figure. I love exploring the different aesthetics that clothes and poses can give. It’s not always easy, but it’s so rewarding when it all comes together.”

I am a self-taught artist that loves creating images of men. My passion is to draw and paint nude male figures from all angles. I am interested in all kinds of male bodies and would like to explore every part of it to show the diversity of beauty in masculine nudity.

Tattoos, piercings, hair color, different ethnicities… All those physical characteristics that define masculine beauty are important for my work.

I also want to share a bit about my life as an artist, the story behind my creations and how I got into this line of work. I hope you will enjoy the blog and keep coming back for more!**

The idea here is to be able to share my work and get some critiques. Its not really a blog but more of a portfolio.

I am an artist based out of Northern Virginia. I love doing art, and it has always been a passion of mine. It was in my senior year of high school that I picked up some pencils again and started drawing for fun. Since then, I have upgraded to just about every art program out there (Sai, Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush). I have tried my hand at just about everything on the computer from photo editing to modeling to sculpting.

I am currently working on a few different personal projects that I hope to post on here soon.
