The evolution of Fantasy Art is a blog about the evolution of fantasy art and conventions.

The evolution of Fantasy Art is an international collective dedicated to the research, preservation and publication of information and images pertaining to the development of fanciful imagery in art, science and entertainment. We are interested in all aspects of imaginary, fantastic and mythological imagery from its earliest origins in antiquity through contemporary manifestations such as role-playing games and fantasy films. Our aim is to provide reliable information for artists, writers, researchers, historians and collectors alike.

The Evolution of Fantasy Art is a blog about the evolution of fantasy art and conventions. The main focus is on the history of cover art for fantasy and science fiction, but we also cover related topics such as art exhibitions, art techniques, and trends in fantasy art.

We don’t solely focus on recent or contemporary artists. The blog covers artists from all times, though with a primary focus on those who worked during the heyday of pulp publishing (roughly 1920 to 1950).

If you are interested in how fantasy art has evolved over the years and what factors have influenced this evolution, The Evolution of Fantasy Art is for you.

The Evolution of Fantasy Art is the culmination of the dream I’ve had since I was a young boy. My goal with this blog is to showcase some of my favorite fantasy artists, as well as to provide an open forum for other like-minded folk. There are so many talented artists working in this genre, and it is my sincere hope that more and more people will recognize that fact.

I also want to talk about conventions, both past and present; they were a big part of my life growing up, and though they have changed since then, they are still important. I think it would be great if EoFA could serve as a way for those fans who are looking for the “good old days” to see what conventions used to be like.

I realize that there are already a number of great fantasy art blogs out there, but I hope that EoFA can bring something new to the table. I’ll be doing interviews with some of the best talent in the industry, as well as showcasing some new artists that people haven’t heard of yet.

I will also be bringing back something from my youth: fan artwork! Every so often, I’m going to ask readers to submit their own work for me to post on the blog, and the best

The first thing to note is that this blog is not just about the evolution of fantasy art. In fact, it’s more about the evolution of conventions. The two are directly linked, however, and this post will begin by talking about fantasy art as a means of expanding on the subject.

The “art” part of this blog’s title may also mislead some people. A lot of fantasy fans like to say that they’re not into “fantasy art,” but rather “fantasy illustration.” There’s a difference, and I’m going to talk about that in a bit, but the truth is that most people don’t make the distinction.

As part of this project I’m going to be looking at other fantasy art blogs and sites, the history of fantasy art, fantasy artists and the various genres of art. Fantasy art is my first love in terms of art but I also love Sci-Fi, Steampunk and all things geeky.

I am an artist myself and I will be posting my own stuff as well as links to other projects that I think are noteworthy. In fact if you have a blog or site that you think should be linked here please do contact me and I’ll have a look.

I hope you enjoy the blog and please feel free to make comments or ask questions, I’ll answer anything if I know the answer!

Please note that some posts may contain adult themes or images!

I am a writer and a fantasy artist, I’ve been drawing since I was about 5 years old. I love doing it, and I’m really good at it.

The first convention that I went to was in 2009, and since then my life has changed dramatically. I’ve met a lot of people that have the same passion for these things as I do, and we’ve made some great friends. The conventions are so much fun, especially when you make new friends.

My work is inspired by the many books and movies from my childhood. Movies like Krull, Labyrinth, DragonNess: The Legend Comes Alive, Willow, ect…and hundreds more that were all before my time but were amazing none-the-less. My favorite is “The Dark Crystal”, not just because of the story or artwork but also because of the scientific research that went into creating this world that still lives on in our minds today.

In my writing the people are always different races than myself (I’m Caucasian) and they come from all over the world. In my art it’s the same way; all kinds of different races and genders enjoying themselves in a fantasy setting where anything can happen!

I started taking commissions in 2010 and have been doing them off an on ever
