Taoism: Taoist celebrations take place on the evening of December 24th. Pagodas are decorated with fruit, pine branches, incense, and lanterns for this occasion. There are also many traditional songs sung during this celebration.
Tibetan Buddhism: Tibetan Buddhists celebrate Christmas by eating a special meal with their families. Afterwards they will light butter lamps to mark the celebration of Buddha’s enlightenment. They will then attend church where they will pray before pictures or statues of saints or other important religious figures such as Jesus or Buddha.
Hinduism: Hindus celebrate Christmas by visiting temples and wishing others “Merry Christmas.” Gifts are exchanged but they are not opened until after an offering has been made to God. Hindus also decorate their homes with lights and candles

During the Spanish Civil War, Picasso volunteered to cover the war for the French Communist Party newspaper, ‘Parizs Kommunis’. He became a committed communist, and this was reflected in his art. In 1939 he completed the anti-fascist painting ‘Guernica’, which depicts the bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.
Towards the end of his career, Picasso began to experiment with Cubism and abstraction. His paintings depicted man as a machine or demiurge. His last major work was ‘The Weeping Woman’ (1958-1960), showing a distressed woman holding her head in her hands.
In 1971 Picasso died peacefully in his villa outside of Cannes in France. He left behind an enormous body of work that continues to inspire artists throughout the world.
