The art of penmanship can be practiced anywhere at anytime with any writing implement or tool including pencils, pens, markers, brushes, quills, etc. To be well-practiced in this art form takes time and effort. But the rewards are well worth it!

Name:Achieve your dreams

A blog about my penmanship. I use fountain pens and ink, dip nibs and quills. There is much history to be found in writing implements and many beautiful things are possible with a well-made pen. This blog is a place where I will share my experiences, knowledge and thoughts of the art of lettering, calligraphy and handwriting.

I am a pen artist, a calligrapher, and a penman, if you will. I love writing with a fountain pen, especially on good paper. When I write with a fine nib in my favorite vintage pen, it is like dancing.

My name is Will Brown, and this is the blog of my business, called Brown’s Pen Shop. You’ll find here articles on all things related to the art of handwriting, including guides to using fountain pens and inks, tutorials on flourishing (flourishing is the art of applying broad strokes of ink to paper), and articles about the history of writing and calligraphy.

I also offer cursive and copperplate instruction for those who wish to learn how to write more beautifully and productively. If you are interested in learning more about any of these topics or would like to have me teach you or your child how to make lettering graceful and beautiful, please contact me at brownspenshop@gmail.com or use the Contact page on this site. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for visiting Brown’s Pen Shop!
