The first is the Map of North America, which was created by the French cartographer Guillaume de L’Isle and published in 1703. It was among the last maps of North America to include the now-obsolete landmass known as California, which de L’Isle extrapolated from the voyages of Spaniard Sebastian Vizcaino.

Created in 1680 by Nicholas Sanson, “La Carte Particuliere De LA Louisiane” is one of the most attractive vintage maps we’ve come across. It depicts the Mississippi River Valley and surrounding areas with a great deal of accuracy and clarity
