Personal:

I am a designer who is interested in making the world a more beautiful place through design. I want to change the world, and I want to do it through design.

The way I’m doing it is through an online magazine, dedicated to the art of light, called SunArt. This blog will be mostly about SunArt, and a lot of fun graphics projects that I’m working on.

This blog will also be an outlet for my own creativity – jewelry designs, art work, illustrations… and a look into the inner workings of SunArt and my office.

Tone:blogging about SunArt

It’s a real surprise that the sun is the source of all life, and the stars are just suns in the distance. It’s so obvious when you look at it that way.

We’re starting with a line of SunArt solar lights because we think more people should be able to get this feeling about their own lives. We’re thinking about SunArt as a business with these lights at its core, but what we want to do is much bigger than this one thing.

We want to make the world a more beautiful place.

“When you have a business, it’s your baby,” said Angela Sun, one of the owners of SunArt. “You want the world to see what you’re doing.”

SunArt, which recently moved its headquarters from their former location in West L.A. to a Bixby Knolls industrial building, sells art pieces and mosaics made out of recycled glass containers and stained glass. The company also offers a full range of interior design services.

Founded by husband and wife team Mike and Angela Sun, SunArt has been making a name for itself in the design world since 2001. The couple started their business with a few hundred dollars, a handful of employees and some popular designs that they had made for friends and family.

Through their persistence, creativity and desire to push the company forward, the Suns have grown SunArt into a $5 million-a-year business with more than 20 employees. They have designed floors for film star Jennifer Aniston and created custom-made stained glass pieces for singer Katy Perry’s home in Beverly Hills – just to name a few.

Our

In addition to being a place for sun art enthusiasts to view our products and learn about new developments, this blog is an outlet for us to share our inspirations, successes and failures. In short, it is a place where we can invite you into the world of SUNART.

I have been working as an independent artist for over ten years now. During that time I have experienced many different forms of art and creativity. I have had the privilege to work with many great people in the industry, but there was something missing: the need for community. So this blog has been created as a way to connect my work with others who feel a similar passion for the sun and its beauty.

I hope that you enjoy what you read here and I look forward to hearing from you!

SunArt was first conceived in 2006 when I was traveling through Europe on a solo backpacking trip. The idea began as somewhat of an observation; it was almost everywhere I went on my journey that I was entranced by the radiance of sunlight shining down on old buildings or monuments – it seemed almost magical. Each time I saw an old building captured by the sun, I would take a picture of it with my camera. At first it was just a fun thing that I did while

The Art of Sunlight started as a blog about how to make the best use of natural light in your home and, in particular, our remodeling and design projects. As the years went by, we started to get emails from people who were not remodeling or building anything but who wanted to learn more about what they could do with their existing homes to be more energy efficient and to save money. We have responded with information on many topics ranging from choosing appliances to saving money on your electric bill.
