Art Therapy Month, an annual celebration of the healing power of art, is January. The purpose of Art Therapy Month is to raise awareness of the value of art therapy in treating stress, trauma, depression and anxiety. It also highlights the importance of the creative process in healing and in our daily lives.

We have a lot to be thankful for; just look at what artists around the world have created. Here are some famous quotes about art that celebrate its powerful healing ability:

“Art is a lie that makes us realize truth.”

– Pablo Picasso

“Art is not a handicraft, it is the transmission of feeling the artist has experienced.”

– Paul Gauguin

“True art is characterized by an irresistible urge in the creative artist.”

– Ben Shahn

“Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist.”

– Albert Einstein

Art and music therapy have been used in hospitals and nursing homes to help patients recover from illnesses, injuries, and surgeries. The use of art therapy to help the mentally ill has also been studied.

Art therapy is said to be helpful because it encourages self-expression and creativity, leading to a greater sense of well-being. It can also help patients learn how to better cope with their problems and express themselves.

Art Therapy Month was created by a group of individuals interested in promoting the awareness and benefits of art therapy treatment. This site is not associated with any other Art Therapy Month sites or groups.

There are many different art therapy practices. Some of them use art to help people deal with mental health issues; others use it as a way of helping to treat physical problems. As an art therapist, you can work in hospitals, community centers or schools; you can also provide services to patients in their own homes.

Treatment techniques vary from person to person, but most tend to focus on the physical and emotional benefits of making art. This includes the exploration of new mediums, techniques and concepts. In a similar manner, there are no specific rules that govern your sessions, although many therapists will ask patients to refrain from using certain media until they have mastered a basic skill level with other materials. For example, you might ask someone who is learning about watercolor painting not to use oil paints or pastels until he has been working with watercolors for at least six months.

Art therapist jobs sometimes require that you meet certain educational requirements. Many therapists have master’s degrees in art therapy or a related field, such as social work or counseling. There are also some online programs that offer this degree, though they are typically designed for students who already have bachelor’s degrees in another subject area.

Art is an expression of the soul. It was in fact the first form of communication from which written language emerged. Art is a way to communicate with oneself, and a way to communicate with others.

As a child I was always interested in art, but like most children I did not have the skills to express my creativity as well as I would have liked. When I got older and more confident, I started taking art classes and working on my techniques. I began to paint.

I did this for about two years before fate brought me into contact with a life changing opportunity. A friend who worked at a local care facility told me that there was an artist who came in regularly to do art therapy with the residents. He was looking for help and suggested that I might be able to assist him by helping him organize his work room. This was an area that had been neglected because of his busy schedule and he needed some help. He also had some openings on Wednesdays, so he asked if I could fill those slots as well. So, I agreed to meet him at his studio on Wednesday morning of the following week as we arranged over the phone.

He greeted me warmly when I arrived and showed me around his studio space, pointing out all the supplies that

Many artists have struggled with the fact that their art must earn the living they need to survive. Art is a wonderful thing to do, not just because it is enjoyable, but because it makes you feel very real and alive. It is easy to get lost in the intensity of creating something beautiful and to forget that there is a world outside of your studio door.

However, if you would like to continue creating art, you need to maintain a balance between working on your art and making money. This can be difficult because often people will seek you out and ask you to create something for them which may require several hours of work and therefore will cost them money. This might become overwhelming after a while and cause you to give up your art for good.

The best way to ensure that your art does not take over your life is to take control of the situation. Set up a website and start promoting your skills as soon as possible. Make sure all of your promotional material and social media sites are professional looking so that people know what they are getting when they hire you. Never stop promoting yourself in some way because then people will never know how talented you are. After all, how would they know if they had never heard of you before?

There is a lot more to painting than simply buying an oil painting for your home. There are several different types of oil paintings such as portraits, landscape, still life and animals. If you are buying a painting for your living room or dining room then a landscape painting would be an excellent choice. If you have a country setting in your home then this type of art will fit well in your home.

Trompe l’oeil is the French word meaning “deceive the eye”. In this style of art, artists use various techniques to give the impression that their subjects are actually three dimensional. When looking at one of these paintings, it is very easy to get the impression that there is depth to the image even though it is only painted on a flat surface.

Collage painting is not really done much anymore however some artists are using pieces of wood and other materials to create texture in their paintings.

The texture in these pieces gives them a three dimensional look.

Paintings that have extreme detail in them can make for some very interesting artwork, especially if it is done in such a way that it looks like photographs or real people or animals. Oil paintings that have been created with the use of photographs can be made to look just like photographs and may even

Art therapy is a creative process that uses various art materials, techniques and processes to enhance self-awareness and promote the expression of feelings and thoughts.

Art therapists help individuals cope with personal and interpersonal issues, reduce stress, improve self-concepts, develop artistic skills and increase personal awareness. Art therapy can be used to work through a variety of life issues from the very serious and painful (bereavement, domestic abuse, loss of a loved one) to the more common day-to-day concerns.

The National Arts Therapists Association (NATA) is the national association for art therapists in the United States. Their website (www.arttherapy.org) provides information about getting into the field as well as educational resources and certification information.

NATA holds an annual conference in Las Vegas every March which includes workshops, speeches by artists/clinicians who use art in their practice, presentations on issues facing the field, exhibits by art therapist students, vendors selling art products related to art therapy, etc. The conference is a great place for those interested in learning more about this field to learn about educational opportunities as well as meet some of the pioneers in the field.
