The Doug Aitken Workshop is a collaborative project that brings together artists, architects, engineers, and designers to explore innovative materials and technologies in art, sculpture, architecture, and construction. The workshop aims to push the boundaries of what is possible with materials and to create new and innovative solutions for the built environment.

    The Project Researcher will work closely with the workshop team, including artists, architects, engineers, and designers, to bridge conceptual ideas with real-world execution.

  • Technical Expertise

    As a skilled fabricator, you will be responsible for bringing the artist’s vision to life through your technical expertise. This includes:

  • Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of various fabrication methods, including welding, casting, and machining
  • Experience with materials such as steel, aluminum, and wood
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices for working with power tools and equipment
  • Collaboration and Communication

    Effective collaboration and communication are essential for success in this role.

    A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is also acceptable.

  • Proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of building codes and zoning regulations
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Education and Training

    A degree in Fine Arts, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
