The Early Years
Petah Coyne was born in 1953 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Growing up in a family of modest means, Coyne’s early life was marked by a strong sense of resourcefulness and adaptability. The sculpture is a 12-foot tall, 6-foot wide, and 4-foot deep, stainless steel tree with a hollow core and a series of interconnected branches. The artist’s intention is to create a sense of community and connection among the trees, as well as to highlight the beauty of the natural world.
