Panda’s Big Adventure, Part 1: A Painting Blog Tour – March 2014
Welcome to the first installment of Panda’s Big Adventure, a blog tour for Animal Crossing Pocket Camp! I’m hosting this tour in conjunction with the folks at Nintendo of America and will be featuring posts from other bloggers who have painted their characters from the game. Don’t worry if you don’t play pocket camp, because a lot of these paintings are great even if you’ve never heard of animal crossing!
I’ll be posting throughout March 2014. Check my end post for a schedule and links to the other blogs.
I am a lucky girl. I got asked to do a tour for Panda’s Big Adventure, with the help of some fabulous blogging buddies. The creator of this tour is my friend, Melonie from The Art of Blogging. I hope you will check out all the other blogs on this tour.
I am going to share a painting process, and then you get to see what it looks like over on Panda’s Big Adventure blog. This blog tour is not just about me… it is about all the bloggers who are getting in on this fun!
The theme of the month is painting, and I want to show you how I go about painting an animal crossing character. You can find more information here:http://pandasbigadventure.com/blog/2014/2/12/painting-blog-tour-march-2014
Selling my art online has become a fulltime job for me. In the past year I have been approached by companies to do over 8 different projects, and I’ve done 7 of them! I’m proud to say that in May 2013, I was invited to do a project for Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf game.
Trying to explain what it is like getting an invite from Nintendo is really difficult because it’s like nothing else. When I was invited back in late March 2013, to do the art for last year’s project “Panda’s Big Adventure”, where players could receive a free print every month for a year, I didn’t believe it at first. It took me about a week to realize that it was actually true and this time there was no joke. The project started on April 1st and ended December 31st 2013. It was so much fun because every month I had something new to share with the world!
One of the things that Nintendo did really well with the promotion of “Panda’s Big Adventure” was how they communicated with me. They were very clear and organized with how they wanted me to run the blog tour, which really helped me stay on track throughout. They also gave me more freedom than I expected as far as
I have been asked to write a blog post about my art and so I am finally starting. I was supposed to do this a while back but it never happened. I will be writing posts every day this month of March 2014.
Tomorrow, March 1st, I will be posting an introduction post about my art and how I came to start drawing these paintings. On the 2nd, it will be an overview of all my characters. On the 3rd, it will be a day off for you guys since there is no painting for that day (haha). On the 4th, I will be posting the link to all my other blogs on painting!
On the 5th and 6th, there is going to be a Q&A with me! You can ask me anything you want in regards to my art or how I came up with these stories or even what I think of Nintendo releasing an AC game for the Wii U soon!
On the 7th through 10th, I will be posting some new paintings as well as some old ones. These paintings will include:
-A new painting based on Panda’s Big Adventure called “Panda’s Big Adventure Part 2”
-A new painting based on Panda’s Big Adventure called “Panda’s
