What do you need?
* A large canvas of your choice (in this case it’s a burlap bag). Try to choose one that has texture so that the paint will stick better.* Black acrylic paint* Yellow acrylic paint* White acrylic paint* A template of your choice (I used the free Salvador Dali “Persistence of Memory” stencil available here ). If you don’t have access to a stencil of your choice, you can try using an image from the internet and print it out on cardstock. These are some good ones . * A foam brush* A very deep, wide bowl for mixing the paints (a salad serving bowl should do)

Dali was born on May 11, 1904 in Catalonia, Spain. He was the son of a well-off industrialist. He had to work hard in his childhood and early adolescent years to help out with his family’s finances. In 1922 he began his training as an artist at the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts. He studied drawing and painting there for 3 years before taking a trip to Paris where he met Pablo Picasso and Joan Miro who would become his mentors. Salvador Dali coffee art makes use of surrealism and a great sense of humor to achieve its purpose.
But it wasn’t until 1934 that Dali became well known in the art world for his Surrealist work. In this year he completed The Persistence of Memory which used soft watches as props in the painting. It really caught on with people because it was such a fascinating image and it inspired many other artists to take it further until it became an entire movement based around the idea of breaking free from reality with your artwork.

Salvador’s father, Salvador Dali y Cusi, was an artist, a doctor and a highly respected member of the Catalan community in his city of Figueres. His mother, Felipa Domenech Ferrés, was from Castelldefels. Salvador married Gala in 1934, and she became his muse and collaborator in many ways working with him on all aspects of Dali’s life including the design for his dream home at Port Lligat.
