If you are an avid quilling artist, you probably have a lot of different quilling paper. But the quilling paper that you have is not always the most suitable for your current project. So what do you do with the other papers? Do you recycle them? Throw them out?

If you are a quilling artist, then you may already know that one of the best ways to store quilling paper is by placing it inside glass vases. The best thing about storing your quilling paper this way is that it will not get wrinkled or damaged at all. In fact, it will even make your quilling paper look more beautiful and elegant. However, there has been a number of cases where people have placed their beautiful quilling art inside glass vases only to find out later that they have actually ruined their creations.

So what exactly happens when you put paper art in glass vases? How do these delicate flowers end up getting destroyed? Is it really safe to put paper quilling flowers in crystal vases?

Quilling, or paper filigree is a simple craft that kids can do to create beautiful flowers, animals, and other objects. It’s also a great way to recycle paper and make something useful out of it. The quilled artwork is typically put in vases to decorate the house or given as gifts. A common question that arises at this point is: Is it safe to put quilling art in glass vases?

It might seem like a silly question, but when you think about it, the answer isn’t so obvious. If the quilling art is made from paper, then there’s a high chance that it will get ruined if you put it in a glass vase. That’s because wet paper tends to stick together and crumble when it dries out. So if you put your quilling art in crystal vases, there’s no guarantee that it will stay intact once you take it out of the water.

TIP: Always put your quilling art in plastic vases or bowls when you’re displaying them at home or giving them as gifts. Crystal vases are too delicate for paper artwork, especially if they are soaked with water for long periods of time.

Hi all!

I recently purchased a gorgeous paper quilling art piece at a craft sale, and wanted to make sure it was safe to display in my crystal vases. I have been told that the moisture from the flowers will cause the glass vases to break (or perhaps water trapped inside the vase will expand with heat and cause the vase to crack) and am very concerned. I would love your input on this. Thanks!

How many times have you been asked to put flowers in vases that are made of clear glass or have clear glass components? Paper quilling is a popular art form and many people are interested in making these beautiful flowers. They often want to display their paper quilling creations by putting them in glass vases.

The problem is that if the paper flowers get moist, they can start to break down and deteriorate. Moisture causes wood pulp to decompose. Decomposition will cause the paper quilling flowers to fall apart and become sticky, which will make it difficult for someone to clean up the mess. There is also a possibility that the glass could be broken from the weight of the paper flowers inside of it.

There are a few reasons why this happens. The first is that not all glass is created equal. The second reason has to do with how the paper quilling flowers were made…..

I am a quiller, artist, and crafter from Toronto, Canada. I have been playing with paper quilling for about two years now and have had the opportunity to do a lot of research into this art form.

I have had the opportunity to learn from some very well known artists such as: Leena Robinson (who is also a professional wedding planner), Claire Martin , Marieke Vellinga, Elinor Godfrey (who is also a teacher) and Susan Powers , just to name a few. I have also attended two workshops put on by Leena Robinson in 2012 & 2013 where I got to spend time learning from her in person.

I have learned so much through my research and my own personal practice of this beautiful art form that I want to help spread awareness of all the information that I know.

I hope that this blog will be able to aid brides-to-be, florists, wedding planners and even quilling artists in knowing more about the care of their paper quilled wedding flowers.**

This is a question that comes up time and time again. Unfortunately, the answer is not a simple one. There are several factors to consider:

1. The type of paper you use

2. The type of glue you use

3. How well you prepare your quilled flowers before putting them in glass vases

4. How often you change the water in your glass vases

5. How many flowers you put in a vase at one time

Paper quilling is a craft where you roll thin strips of paper into a tube, and then form the tube into a shape. It’s kind of like origami, only you use glue to stick your pieces together.
