The Smokey eye makeup look has been around for quite some time, but that doesn’t mean it’s a simple one. In this article we will go into the history of how this look got started and how you can use it in different ways to create a variety of looks.

Although it is debated where the term “smokey eye” originated, the style dates back to at least the 1920s. The most famous reference to this style of make-up is in the book “Gone with the Wind,” where Scarlett O’Hara describes her make-up style as a “smokey eye.”

Although many women swear by this classic look, there are different ways you can accomplish this without looking overdone. Whether you’re going for a night out on the town or a casual day at work, there are so many different ways you can achieve this classic look.

Everyone loves a smokey eye, but most people are intimidated to try it. I’m here to show you how easy it really is.

Smokey eyes can be very elegant and sexy, or very dramatic and bold. Personally, I love the drama of a smokey eye. It’s fun to play around with different shades of color and even add glitter sometimes! Here are a few tips on how to do a smokey eye:

1) Always start with clean eyes! Using makeup remover or a good eye makeup remover pad will ensure that everything is fresh and ready to go.

2) Use a light shade of eyeshadow all over the lid and brow bone. This will create an even base for your darker shades, and give that beautiful ombre look everyone loves so much!

3) Choose two darker colors of eyeshadow in similar shades (you can choose lighter ones if you’d like!). Using an angled brush, apply the lighter color all over the lid, up past the crease. Then take the darker shade and apply it just on top of the crease, blending slightly outwards to create depth.

4) Line your eyes with a dark brown pencil eyeliner. This is optional, but gives an ultra-

Smokey eyes are a timeless beauty secret that can be used on both men and women alike. The term “smoke eyes” was first used in the 1920’s to describe the look of a woman wearing dark kohl eyeliner along with a deep colored shadow. The smokey eye is a dramatic look for evening wear or glamour looks, especially if you’re going for a retro feel.

TIP: If you are just starting out with applying make up and would like to try out the smokey eye look, I recommend looking for a pre-made kit that contains all of your basic needs i.e.: brushes, eyeliners, mascara and even mini lessons/instructions. This is not only more cost effective but also is great if you want to learn more about different colors and how they work on different skin tones. I have found kits like this at my local Wal-Mart or CVS drug store (for around $10 dollars). Although these kits are primarily made for teens I have seen women in their 20’s – 30’s using them as well. You can never go wrong with an easy “all-in-one” package!

Red lips, big eyes, and a smokey eye! These are the three items that make up the “smokey eye” look. It’s no coincidence that these are also the same three things that make up the “sexy look”.

Going into the history of it, the smokey eye look can be traced back to ancient Egypt. The Egyptians wore kohl (a black powder used as makeup) around their eyes in order to protect their eyes from the sun. This was considered a beauty mark at the time, and it is still thought of as beautiful to this day. In fact, Cleopatra used kohl not only to make her beautiful but also to protect her eyes.

The red lips and big eyes are an expression of sexuality. Women with these characteristics were thought to be more attractive to men, because they gave off the appearance that they were healthy and able to bear children. As for the black eye makeup, well…it’s sexy!

1. Gather your supplies

Here is what you will need:

*Eye shadow palette with neutral colors. I use Urban Decay Naked palette.

*Concealer

*Eyeliner pencil (I recommend Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner)

*Mascara

*Blush (optional)

2. Choose a base color for your eye shadow look. This will be the main color of your smokey eye. For this tutorial, we chose UD Naked 2, which is a deep shimmery brown color. We will be using this as our main color base on the lids.

Makeup is one of the most powerful things in a woman’s life. It can change your look from a girl to a woman and from a young lady to a beautiful woman. Makeup can make or break your look, for example if you are going for a job interview or on a first date. It can also change how people perceive you. Makeup is not just something that should be used by woman but also men, it can change your whole look and style as well. There are many different ways to use makeup, here are some basic steps that anyone can follow.

First, you have to prime your face with a good foundation. This will keep the makeup from sliding off while you are applying it. Then, get a good concealer to cover up any blemishes or imperfections on your skin. Then use some eye shadow on your eyelids to give it more definition and cover any discolorations in the skin there. Next, apply some mascara, which is one of the most important parts of any makeup application because it can really open up the eyes. Then choose some good lipstick to keep things natural looking or even add some color on top of that if you want to go for something more dramatic. The last step is to put on some blush so
