An interesting, simple and easy way to make a mandala is with the help of a compass. Here’s what you do:
1) Make a circle
2) Draw in the four quadrants or eight spokes
3) Connect the dots on the outside of your circle
4) Add lines to connect the opposite corners
5) Add other lines that extend out from the center to create new shapes in each quadrant or spoke.
5) Fill in your mandala with colors or patterns based on your own preferences and purposes.
You can make Mandalas on any size paper but I personally like to use large sheets of paper so I can really spread out and really get my creativity flowing. You can also use large sheets of newsprint which are excellent for this purpose because they are cheap and disposable. Some people prefer using canvas as their background but I don’t find it necessary especially when I am using colored markers or crayons as my medium of choice.

It’s best if you can draw on a large piece of paper (A4 or A3). When planning the general outline, don’t just think about which shapes to add but also take into account how they might fit together once all is said and done. This way you can avoid having a mandala that looks awkward in places or has gaps where there shouldn’t be any.
