I am a nature artist and I enjoy the use of seashells in my work. The following steps explain how I make faux ventilation vents from seashells.

1. Find a seashell that is the right size for the area you wish to cover.

2. Remove the top layer of sand to expose the actual shell, removing any mussels or barnacles that might be on it at this time.

5. Insert your tubing through one hole until it comes out at least halfway into the other section, then secure it with glue or silicone sealant so that it won’t move around as you are working on it. Allow enough room for your tubing to expand when you glue or seal it into place.

Recently I have seen homes that had beautiful art work venting system. It was very nice to see the homes looking so good. I wanted something like it but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. I began to look at the shells that were collected and thought about them being used for vents.
