I am a nature artist and I enjoy the use of seashells in my work. The following steps explain how I make faux ventilation vents from seashells.
1. Find a seashell that is the right size for the area you wish to cover.
2. Remove the top layer of sand to expose the actual shell, removing any mussels or barnacles that might be on it at this time.
3. Polish the outside surface with fine sandpaper to remove any unwanted nicks or scratches.
4. Drill small holes in the section where you want the air to exit, using a drill bit slightly larger than your tubing will be, then repeat on another section with the same type of hole but closer to where you want the air to enter (the inside).
5. Insert your tubing through one hole until it comes out at least halfway into the other section, then secure it with glue or silicone sealant so that it won’t move around as you are working on it. Allow enough room for your tubing to expand when you glue or seal it into place.
6. Decorate your faux ventilation vent by painting a design onto it if desired, then sealing it with polyurethane (or any other sealant). Then put some type
Artificial ventilation vents are used in a wide range of architectural designs. Ventilation is one of the most important aspects of building design since it helps to maintain a healthy environment for the home or office space.
The vents help to bring fresh air into the building and remove stale air from the inside. These ventilation systems also help to regulate temperature and humidity levels inside a building by circulating air, which can have a positive effect on comfort, health and productivity.
Tropical fish tanks are becoming increasingly popular as they become more affordable to buy and maintain. While some people choose to use artificial plants and materials inside the tank, there is also a choice to use real materials such as shells, rocks and corals. This type of natural décor is called Aquascaping. When using real materials within an aquarium it is important to consider whether they will release harmful chemicals or toxins into the water that could affect the fish or other aquatic life. Therefore, before placing any shells into your aquarium look up information about them online so you can determine whether they are safe for your fish tank.**

Have you ever thought about how people would have been able to ventilate their homes way back when before technology advanced enough for the use of fans? Well, we’ve all seen those old movies and shows where there are ventilation shafts in the wall that allow the fresh air to flow into a house to keep it cool during the summer and warm during the winter.
However, these fake ventilation vents made from seashells can look really awesome in your home depending on what type of theme you’re going for. They’re not too difficult to make either! So if you’re interested in learning how to make faux ventilation vents from seashells, just follow along.
For this project you’ll need:
seashells-any size or shape will do
balsa wood-the kind used for marionettes works really well and is easy to find at craft or hobby stores
hot glue gun and glue sticks-or whatever type of glue you prefer
small paint brush-for painting shells after they’ve been cut out
scissors-to cut out shells with

A faux ventilation vent is a unique way to add character and beauty to your home. This project is also one of the easiest home improvement projects that’s simple enough for even a novice to tackle.

After you’ve finished making the faux ventilation vent, your home will look great and you’ll have fun showing it off to friends and family.
Ventilation Vents are one of the necessities in every room or home. Ventilation helps to get rid of smoke and other pollutants in the air. This is also important for people who suffer from allergies.
Today, we will show you a simple way to make a great looking ventilation vent with seashells. This is not an expensive project, as you can use seashells that you have collected on your own or purchased at a store. We think this project adds just the right touch to any room that needs a little something extra, and it’s really cool to see the inner workings of this ventilation vent.
Tutorial:
You can start by collecting seashells that are roughly 3-4 inches in size (or about 2 inches for a less “open” look). The larger shells are used as the base because they will hold more paint and detail. You will want to glue or screw the shells together so that they are sturdy enough to hold paint and still be able to function as a vent. You can also add additional pieces of wood or even another shell to make it sturdier.
In order to make sure that your vents blend in with your home, paint them the same color as your walls! The color of the inside of the
Recently I have seen homes that had beautiful art work venting system. It was very nice to see the homes looking so good. I wanted something like it but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. I began to look at the shells that were collected and thought about them being used for vents.
I am not an artist in any way but I do enjoy doing art work with my kids. So I decided to take a couple of different shells and paint them and make a few vents for our home.
**I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I do! The vents are easy to make, fairly cheap (depending on the type of shell you choose), and really pretty! If you have any questions or suggestions please leave me a comment.**
And since we all seem to be talking about water lately, here is a neat way to reuse some of those old water bottles too! Here are some links that I found:
