Oil pastels can be used in a number of different ways. You can start off with a large piece of paper and create your artwork on it using just this technique. You can also work directly on top of another piece of artwork, rather than on top of a blank canvas or paper surface. This will create an interesting effect if you like to layer your pieces together and want the new work to show through the old ones. There are two ways to approach this technique: you can start your drawing from scratch or you can overlay another drawing onto your original piece and start working over it with oil pastels.

Abstract art is about emotion and feelings, not about images. In order to create a strong abstract work, you have to know how to express emotion through color and texture. The most important thing to remember when creating your own abstract art work is to be bold and confident in your strokes. Abstract artists are more concerned with the overall effect of their piece, rather than the details.
