Allied Arts Associate: To assist with projects and day-to-day office needs; this position requires excellent communication and organization skills, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of daily museum life.

Art Preparator: To assist with various projects, from mounting exhibition illustrations to overseeing the care and conservation of SFMOMA’s collection. This position provides an opportunity to work closely with artists and conservators.

Baker: To provide baked goods for the museum’s café and catering events; includes some evening shifts.

Building Attendant: To maintain the museum’s building exterior and lobby areas, as well as interior galleries; this position requires the ability to lift heavy objects, such as artworks, furniture, and cleaning supplies.

Cashier: To be on hand at all events held in SFMOMA’s building; this position requires exceptional people skills, a pleasant demeanor, and knowledge of art from around the world.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is a modern art museum in San Francisco, California. It is located on 151 Third Street in the city’s South of Market District. The museum’s current collection includes over 26,000 works of painting, sculpture, photography, architecture, design, and media arts. The majority of the collection dates from the mid-20th century to the present and includes work by artists such as Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Frank Stella, Roy Lichtenstein, Willem de Kooning, Robert Rauschenberg and James Turrell among others.

The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) employs over 300 people, who are responsible for art collection, preservation, and installation, as well as curating the exhibitions on display. These employees work in the following departments: Collections, Conservation and Research, Public Programs, Education & Community Engagement, Marketing and Communications, Development and Advancement and IT.

Tours of the museum led by SFMOMA docents are available on a regular basis. The museum also hosts special events for children and house tours for families interested in learning more about the artworks on display.

The Museums and Public Programs department at SFMOMA is looking to fill a full-time Social Media Manager position. This position will be responsible for regularly updating SFMOMA’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as working with the Marketing and Communications team to manage other social media accounts for SFMOMA. In addition, this position will support the Digital Department in managing SFMOMA’s website and online presence.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills and experience using various social media platforms and tools to create engaging content for both SFMOMA’s followers as well as general audiences interested in art, design, architecture, film and other creative endeavors.

The Social Media Manager should also be organized and able to handle multiple projects at once; possess excellent communication skills; be able to work independently as well as collaboratively; and have a passion for contemporary art.*
