My name is Jordan and I am an oil pastel artist.

I work in a variety of mediums, but my favorite is oil pastels. I started out painting in acrylics, but when I discovered oil pastels, I knew that was the medium for me. It combines the luminosity of watercolors with the intensity of oils.

I have been using oil pastels for over 10 years now. In that time, I have learned a lot about putting together a set of tools that work for me. Here are some tips and tricks to creating art with oil pastels:

1) Get good quality oil pastels. Artist grade pastels are better formulated than student grade, so they will be more vibrant and stickier than cheaper brands.

Not all brands are created equal, however. At some point you can try out different brands to find what works best for you. However, there are some brands that stand out from the rest:

Prismacolor Premier (my favorite)

Derwent Coloursoft

Cretacolor Colored Pencils (not technically oil pastels, but they work well with them)

2) Keep your set together in one place. Oil pastel sets come with a case or tin box to

What is oil pastel art? If you are an art lover, you should have come across this term a few times. If you are an artist then you must definitely be aware of the uses and advantages of oil pastel art.

Oil pastel is a soft form of pastel that is favorite among many artists who prefer using traditional mediums. Since oil pastel art is created using oil paints you will find it easily available in the market and it is also cheaper. You get to choose from a wide range of colors as well.

Oil Pastel Art has many uses, it can be used for creating designs for greeting cards, wall decor or even for your home décor, birthday cards, children’s drawings and so on.

Oil pastel art is a beautiful and versatile medium as it is simple to use. Oil pastels are available in many colors and offer great flexibility for the artist. Oil pastels are easy to blend and mix, and create soft and delicate effects.

Oil pastels typically come in sticks made of compressed powdered pigments which are bound together with a wax binder. This makes them very soft and easy to blend; they can be smudged or blended to produce the desired effect on paper. The oil pastel colors are vivid, deep, intense and opaque.

Oil pastels are considered most suitable for use by older children, teens, or adults due to their composition which can be easily stained. They are not recommended for children under the age of three due to their small size and choking hazard.

Oil pastels may be used on black paper to create a wide range of colors including browns, greys, purples and blues. Oil pastels can also be used on colored paper although this will mute the color somewhat.

Art is a beautiful and exciting thing to do. But it’s also a skill that can be learned. I started out like you, with little or no artistic talent. With patience and practice, I can show you how to create art.

The full range of pastel colors is available to you. You can mix the major colors and make a wide range of shades. You can also blend the various colors together to create a smooth gradation from dark to light. Use your imagination and explore the possibilities.

There is no need to limit yourself to just one color, either. Most artists use more than one color in their work, blending them together into a variety of hues and shades. Experimenting with these colors will provide you with the opportunity to better understand what you can do with pastels and how they can enhance your artwork.

Hues are a natural result of mixing two different colors together. Using complementary colors will create a bright or striking hue, while using complementary opposites will create a dark hue that is almost black. Alternatively, you can use primary colors such as red (magenta), yellow and blue (cyan) to achieve more saturated hues, or you can experiment with secondary colors such as orange (red-yellow), green (blue-yellow) and purple (red-blue).
