I would like to show you the way I have created an environmental down-to-earth space in my home. It is a blog about creating a simple but beautiful and down-to-earth space in your home.

A great way to learn about how to create an environmental down-to-earth space is through the experiences of others, who have gone before you. For example, experts in creating an environmental down-to-earth space are part of the Global Ecovillage Network – http://gen.ecovillage.org/

This network is made up of communities and individuals, who wish to find sustainable ways of living on our planet by developing villages, towns and regions. This network is made up of modern day hippies, commune dwellers and eco-conscious people, who are helping to create a sustainable way of life for humanity today.

We all have points in common with one another, we all want a better world, we all want to live in eco friendly homes and neighbourhoods, we all have very similar problems and hurdles to overcome when attempting to create our own community or home. We can all support each other with knowledge and ideas that can help us achieve our goals! What more could one ask for?

Creating an environmentally friendly home or community takes a lot of hard work and planning but it will be worth it! If you need some advice or tips then feel free to contact me using the contact form on this blog.

Down-to-earth is an artistic term that refers to work based on the earth, or even in the ground. It is a reminder that we live on the third planet from the sun, and we are made of stardust.

Down-to-earth art encourages us to feel our connection to everything around us, to our earthly origins.

Down-to-earth artists have been inspired by a variety of media—sod, horse manure, sand, stone, wood, water, snow and ice. They have used them to create works of art that celebrate the interdependence of all life on Earth.

Down-to-Earth art can be created with simple materials. No matter what your budget you can find ways to celebrate your connection to the Earth in your own home by creating simple but beautiful and down-to-earth spaces.

The most important thing to realize is that a home can be beautiful and down-to-earth without being a mess. A room can be elegant, serene, and inviting without being cluttered.

Here are some tips on how to create an environmental art piece in your home:

* Select a theme or color scheme and work within it.

* Keep an orderly home.

* Get rid of unnecessary items, like clutter and old furniture.

* Add beauty to the room with plants, flowers, candles, and other decorations.

* Provide a space for quiet relaxation that is distinct from the main part of the house.

* Make your space unique, but also comfortable for all people who visit.* Keep a small piece of artwork in each room.* Have somewhere you can sit and think or simply enjoy life’s little pleasures.* Make sure your home is inviting for guests.* Use color combinations that are pleasing to the eye.* Use cushions on chairs or couches to make them more inviting.* Use wall hangings in place of painting the walls.* Make your home environmentally friendly by using recycled materials when you build or decorate it.* Have a good picture window that lets in natural light.

Landscape and environmental artist, Donna Yule, shares her experience creating an environmentally friendly garden that requires very little maintenance. The garden is on a hillside, which means it receives good drainage, but is also far enough from the road that it is not covered in dust and fumes.

TIP: Start with an “easy” plant. A plant that will grow well in your area and one that you are unlikely to kill. Find out what the best plants are for your area and your growing season. When you feel more confident about growing things, then add more plants!

TIP: Keep in mind where your plants will get the most sun, water and nutrients. Consider how big they’ll get before deciding where to place them.

TIP: Add some form of mulch to your beds to help retain moisture and keep weeds down. Chopped bark or wood chips are easy to find at any hardware store or nursery.

TIP: Use your imagination when choosing containers for plants. It could be something as simple as a rusty old bucket or an old metal tub; just make sure it has drainage holes. Donna Yule made her own planter boxes out of scrap wood she had laying around the house. They’re very sturdy and inexpensive!

1. Get some big empty black trash bags and fill them with the items you don’t need anymore: clothes, toys, magazines, items in your kitchen or bathroom.

2. Go to a place where there are no people, and throw everything away into a dumpster or just leave them on the side of the road for someone else to pick up.

3. Clear out all your personal belongings from your home and throw away as much stuff as possible.

4. Take some time to think about what would make you happy at home and then go buy some new clothes and accessories that will make you feel good when wearing them.

5. Buy some nice, natural-colored paint to brighten up the walls of your home (you can pick any color you want).

6. Clean up all the things you have left in your house (take out the trash, wash the dishes, sweep the floor).

7. Find a place in your home that is quiet and peaceful where you feel comfortable (for example, a cozy chair or sofa).

8. Light a candle and listen to some relaxing music while sitting in this place for at least 15 minutes every day (you can also practice yoga here).
