Because of my professional design background, I find myself drawn to art and photography that is in black and white. I have a passion for the medium dating back to my childhood days when we had no color television and I would rush outside after school to watch public television.

This blog is about the process of collecting black and white artwork: what to look for, what questions to ask, how to get a good deal etc. It is also a place for me to keep track of the pieces I am finding or have found that I enjoy.

This blog is about the black and white art collection process. In order to add more information about this subject I am going to write posts about it. I would also like to share with you my passion for collecting black and white photography that have given me a lot of satisfaction. Black and white art has a color of its own. It has a mood that is different from color art. Black and white art also indicates more clearly the quality of the work.

It is not easy to find black and white art. We do not have the typical modernist galleries in New York City or any place else. We have to go out of our way to find black and white art.

The first step is to look at original art, but we are not looking for just any original black and white art. We are only interested in high quality pieces of black and white art. The second step is to find an artist that we like whose work is in black and white, preferably an artist who paints mostly in black and white. The third step is to study the work of this artist, so that we understand his style and approach to painting in general, including his work in black and white; this will give us a better idea what kind of piece we should look for when buying black and white art.

We collect only original paintings because they have intrinsic value as works of art; prints do not have this value. We prefer paintings on canvas or paper because they are higher quality than lithographs or giclees.*

Black and White art is a major part of the art world. It is one of the most collected categories in the modern art world. It is easy to see why people collect Black and White Art. It can be displayed in a variety of ways. You can hang it against any color wall or you can hang it on its own or with other black and white works. It almost always looks beautiful.

Trying to buy black and white art is fun but can be a challenge. You want to find something that will fit in with your collection and your home decor while also being something that you truly like. This can feel like a difficult task, especially if you are buying online, but it doesn’t have to be.

With these tips, you will find yourself buying black and white art quickly and easily!

As I’ve been collecting black and white art for years, I have learned what to look for in art. You can find great paintings that people sell for a fraction of their true value. Some of them are even famous artists, but someone needs to tell the person selling them that.

It’s easy to get caught up in the hype of a piece and to overpay for it. If you don’t know what you’re looking at, it could be very easy to get completely ripped off and pay thousands for a piece of art that is worth only hundreds, or even less.

The following list is not all-inclusive, but here are some things to look for when deciding whether or not to buy a painting:

1.     Size – People will sometimes sell you large pieces of art because they assume they are more valuable than small ones. This is not always true. Small pieces are sometimes sold by artists who are just starting out and want an easy way to make some money fast, and they mark up their prices accordingly.

2.     Authenticity – Always look at everything closely and ask questions if anything looks suspicious. Be sure there is no water damage, touching up or any other signs that the piece has been altered from its original state.

Black and white art is a great way to decorate your home. It is one of the most popular forms of art, but also one of the more complex. There are many factors when you buy black and white art that you need to consider.

Tone:matter-of-fact

The first thing to understand is the difference between an original and a reproduction. The second thing is to begin your quest. I will outline some things to watch out for when beginning this journey.

The Collecting Process:

You can begin by looking at art that you already have or can see in a museum. For example, you might notice a piece of art that you like and find out who made it. This can be done in a number of ways; by going to the artist’s website, looking up the artist in an art book or on the internet, looking at signature or other markings on the art itself or having it appraised.

This information will help you decide if you like the artist’s style and subject matter. You will want to focus on artists that make the kind of art that you are interested in. Look for artists online, at galleries and museums, where ever you can find them. In addition to these places look for paintings at garage sales, estate sales and thrift stores. When looking at an original piece of art make sure that it has not been damaged due to environmental factors (sunlight, water etc.) and take note of any cracks or other damage that may have occurred over time such as water stains or discoloration from smoking cigarettes
