Happy Drawing!

Art is the most important subject in education. It is the key to understanding everything else, even math and science. You don’t have to be an artist to do well at drawing, it is a skill that can be learned by anyone.

The only thing you need to become an artist or illustrator is practice.

Drawing is a skill that can be learned, not an inherent talent. It takes time and effort to draw well. If you want to become an artist or illustrator, you need to practice, just like learning any other skill such as playing the piano or basketball.

TIP: Get a piece of paper and practice copying things from real life. Copy a face in a magazine photograph or a still life from your kitchen. If you can copy well from photographs then start drawing figures from your imagination. Draw what people around you are wearing and how they are acting in conversation.

Drawing isn’t about being able to draw perfectly right away; it’s about improvement with time and effort.*

Keep making pictures – work on your art every day – even if it feels frustrating sometimes!

I’ve been drawing ever since, always trying to improve my skills. When I have time, I draw for fun and for relaxation, but also because it’s my job.

Art is a form of communication. It is visual for the most part, although it can be verbal.

Art is also subjective, meaning that every piece of art has an opinion behind it. The artist may not tell you what that opinion is, but it is there. The message may be a personal statement made by the artist, or it may have something to do with a social cause. Although art can be used to describe a specific place or time period, its main function is to connect people through a common experience and emotion.

Trying to define art can be just as subjective as viewing it. It could be anything that reflects the human condition. Art can also be anything that can hold our attention and make us feel something strong enough to change us in some way. In other words, art is an emotional experience for us and for the artist who created it.

The best way to learn about art is to study the masters and then create your own masterpieces! Practice really does make perfect when it comes to learning how to pick up a pencil and paper or grab your camera and start shooting!

You will never get anywhere if you do not practice creating artwork daily! Many artists are very talented but their work never reaches its full potential because they don’t practice enough

If you want to learn how to draw, the first thing you should do is forget about drawing. Artists don’t draw; they paint, sculpt and create designs. The drawing is what comes first, but if you really want to learn how to create a painting or a design, then you need to start with the big picture.

Trying to learn how to draw without understanding the process of creating is like trying to build a house without knowing how construction works. But once you understand the process of creating, then you have the foundation for learning how to draw.

To give yourself a proper foundation in art, it’s best to start at the beginning. Here we will take the time to teach you some of the fundamental principles that underlie all forms of artistic creation. In each lesson we’ll show you fundamental concepts that are essential for understanding how art is created and provide you with examples for further study.

Each lesson will introduce you to new concepts that build upon previous lessons so it’s important that you work through them in sequence.
