Leaf art is a form of scrapbooking. Leaves are collected and then cut and arranged into an art piece. The leaves can be left whole or they can be cut into more delicate pieces. Most people like to use the leaves in their fall colors. It helps to collect your leaves early in the fall when they have not yet fallen from the trees, but it is also possible to collect them during the winter months.

The most popular leaf art designs are animals, flowers and geometric shapes. You can also just make a collage of the leaves you collect by cutting them into various shapes and sizes or you could make a mosaic with your leaf collection. The possibilities for creating different types of leaf art are endless so there is something for everyone.

Leaf art, also called leaf impressions, is one of the most fun and easy kinds of craft to do. It involves pressing leaves into soft clay. A great activity for kids and adults alike, leaf art is a great way to decorate your house or give a special gift to someone.

How to Make Leaf Art?

There are two ways to make leaf art. You can either press leaves directly onto the surface you want or press the leaves on a piece of paper first. If you want to press the leaf onto paper first, you can then cut out the leaf and glue it onto your project later.

TIP: You should use only pliable leaves for leaf art. The degree of pliability will vary depending on many factors such as humidity, temperature, age of the leaf and even the species of tree itself but generally softer leaves work better than harder ones.

If you are using thin paper or cardstock then it is best not to wet it before applying the leaf so as not to weaken it too much and make it more likely to tear when you remove the leaf from the clay afterwards. But if you are going for heavy card stock that doesn’t tear easily then go ahead and wet it first before laying down your leaf because this will allow more detail

SUMMER LEAF ART PROJECT: This summer leaf art

I have been an artist all my life, and I have never sold a painting. When people ask me if I have ever had any shows, I tell them that I paint every day, so what’s the difference?

I think that art is something that shouldn’t be judged by your skill or how much money you get for it. Art is something that you love and enjoy doing. You are your own critic when it comes to art.

As long as you are doing something that you love and enjoy doing, it isn’t work. It is just a hobby and a way to express yourself. If you can make money off of it, great! If not, just continue to do what makes you happy. Money isn’t everything.

Paint what you want to paint because no one else will paint the way that you do it. Just go out there and have fun!
