Studies have shown that if you are going to be an artist, practicing the art you want to be is the most important thing. You should draw for 2 hours a day for a year. You should draw for 2 years. You should draw every day for a month or two. The more you draw and the longer you do it, the better artist you will be.
A lot of people struggle with drawing because they don’t realize how important it is. I want to share some tips and tricks I’ve learned about drawing over the past few years that can help you improve your drawing ability.

A key to drawing is finding the underlying shapes. There are many tricks for doing this, and each artist has their own approach to finding these underlying shapes. In this post, we will take a quick look at some of the more common methods used by artists to find and draw these shapes.
The main idea behind most methods is to simplify the subject down to its key features. In order to do this, it can be helpful to find ways to divide up the subject into simple geometric shapes. One way of doing this is by using overlapping shapes in your drawing. At first glance, it may not seem like there are any overlapping shapes in this drawing, but if you look closely, you will see that the nose (a triangle) overlaps the mouth (an oval). The eyes are made up of circles overlapping a triangle-like shape (the brow ridge).
This concept can be taken much further by using other types of geometric shapes to break down your subject matter. Look at the image below for example:

There are many ways to create art. Some of the best art tips have come from artists who worked in different mediums, so it is important to look at as many mediums as possible. The more mediums you work in, the more practice you get and the better your art will be.
Art Center is a division of the College of Design at California State University, Northridge. It offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in fine arts and graphic design, a Bachelor of Science degree in art education, a Master of Arts degree in art education, as well as summer programs for children and adults. Art Center also has a wide array of classes for professional artists like Illustration and fine arts.
In addition to being one of the oldest continually operating art schools in the country, Art Center is also home to some of the most influential cultural figures in the world including: comic book artist Jim Steranko (Captain America), satirist Gary Larson (The Far Side), animator Bob Kurtz (Yogi’s Space Race), photographer Eadweard Muybridge (horse-in-motion studies) and animator Ralph Bakshi (Lord of the Rings).
Art Center also publishes examples of student work through their departmental magazine “ARTsphere”. The magazine features work produced by current students and alumni, as well as faculty that have taught at the school. The magazine also includes interviews with various alumni who share their experiences working in various fields concerning illustration and design.
Art Center’s library collection boasts over 80,000 volumes, which include books on art history
Art Center is a center for the visual arts. It was founded in 1956 and is located in Pasadena, California. It offers classes to over 7500 students every year. Art Center was originally called the Art Center School; it was unique because it was one of the first schools where students could study art for a year or more. The school offered courses in fine arts, architecture and design, photography, and industrial design.
The school began as an evening program for local high school students who wanted to learn about drawing and painting. After World War II ended, it became a full-time program, and enrollment increased. In 1956, the school officially changed its name to Art Center College of Design.
Art Center College of Design has about 2200 students. There are about 30 full time faculty members and about 200 adjunct faculty members who teach at the college.
