The following blog post was submitted to us by one of our readers. It offers a unique perspective on the similarities and differences between traditional and digital art.

A key aspect of both traditional and digital art is that they are done using tools designed for specific tasks—namely, paint brushes for traditional art, computer programs for digital art. While many digital artists choose to draw by hand before digitally editing their work, this is not necessary. Almost all commercial artist software applications have “pen” or “brush” tools that allow users to draw digitally without having to use a stylus or mouse; however, the user may still choose to use a mouse or stylus if it feels more comfortable.

Also, although both traditional and digital artists must learn how to use their tools in order to produce art, there are some fundamental differences between these tools. Traditional brushes do not make mistakes; however, brushes in computer programs can make mistakes due to human error or bugs in the program’s code. Digital artists must also take into account the size of the image being produced as well as resolution (or dpi), where a higher resolution results in higher quality images but larger file sizes. Traditional artists do not have to worry about resolution; however, they must instead consider

The digital revolution has forever changed the way people create art. The creation of fine art has been around for thousands of years and it’s fair to say that technology hasn’t really touched much of it. Digital art is different because technology plays a huge role in the end result.

Digital art is a relatively new form of art that was made possible by the invention of computers and computer graphics. Digital art allows artists to create original pieces of art without having to use traditional, physical art supplies like paint or a canvas. Instead, the artist uses computer software that provides the user with numerous tools to help create the desired piece of art.

Are digital artists really artists? Many people who are not familiar with the world of digital art may be quick to judge digital artists by their medium, but the truth is that digital artists are true artists in every sense of the word. They use creativity, skill and an artistic vision to create works of art that have never existed before.

In this blog I will discuss what digital art is and how it differs from traditional art. I will also cover several advantages and disadvantages of creating digital artwork, and explain how you can become a successful digital artist.

An Introduction to Digital Art: What Exactly Is It?

Digital art is a form of fine art that is created using computer software and other forms of technology instead of traditional materials like paints, brushes and canvases. While some may think using computers to create original works of art may limit an artist’s creativity, in reality, the opposite is true. Computer programs allow artists to

The internet is full of digital art, but how different is it from traditional art? There are a number of differences between the two, and in this blog I hope to explore some of these differences.

There are three main differences between digital and traditional art. First, the medium. Digital art is made on computer software whereas traditional art is made on paper or canvas. Second, the process of making the art. Digital artists use computers to make their images whereas traditional artists use brushes and paints. Finally, the audience for the art. Because digital images can be viewed online, there is an audience for internet based pieces that simply wasn’t there before the invention of digital technology.

In this blog I hope to examine more closely each of these three differences and how they effect both types of art

Digital art is commonly believed to be very different from traditional art, but this is simply not the case. Digital art is, in a sense, just as old as traditional art. The creation of both types of works has remained virtually unchanged over time and they utilize the same basic artistic principles.

Traditional art and digital art are similar in that they are both an expression of an artist’s emotions and ideas. Traditional artists create a canvas based on the emotional response they have after picking up on a subject matter or theme that they feel strongly about. Many famous artists have incorporated political views in their work, such as Salvador Dali or Pablo Picasso. This is no different from digital artists who use their work as a means to express their political views, such as Banksy.

The ability to create art on the computer is opening up new ways for people to express themselves. It’s also giving artists a whole new way to view their work.

Digital art has been around since the 1980s, but it’s only recently that the technology has become sophisticated enough for artists to use it as a primary medium. The rise of digital art has created a lot of controversy over what is and isn’t an acceptable form of art, and “dot art” or “pixel art” has become one of the more controversial forms.

Traditional artists decry digital art as not being real art because they believe that it’s just someone using a computer program to put pixels onto a canvas. Digital artists argue that they are using their artistic vision and technical skill in order to create their pieces, just like traditional artists do. Who’s right?

It all comes down to your definition of what makes an artist and what makes a piece of art. Traditional artists think that digital artists aren’t creating anything, just arranging pre-existing elements into a new pattern. Digital artists think that the traditional concept of “art” doesn’t apply when you can rearrange those same pixels into any pattern you want.

So which side is right? Both sides make some good points, but neither

The first thing we need to establish is that there are some fundamental differences between types of art. Traditional art is art in which the physical medium is used in order to produce the artwork. Digital art is produced by a computer and not by a physical medium. This can be as simple as typing text into a word document, or as complex as using 3-D modeling programs. When using digital media to create your artwork, you are able to manipulate it in ways that you can’t with traditional media.

This manipulation of digital media gives you a lot of flexibility when creating your art. You can do things that would be impossible with traditional media. For example, you can use layers with Photoshop to create multiple versions of something and then overlay them on top of each other so that they appear at the same time in one image (this is called compositing). You can also add visual effects like shadows or change the color scheme without having to start over from scratch.

The advantage of digital art is that it allows for more flexibility when creating your pieces and allows for greater creativity because you have more options available to you than with traditional forms of media. But this does not come without its own set of negatives. There are many artists who prefer a more organic form of art and feel uncomfortable
