I’m an artist who creates sunflower art (of course!) and I blog about my experiences, successes and failures, as well as tips and tricks for creating your own sunflower art. Sunflower art is a form of silk screening that makes custom T-shirts and other products with a unique piece of art printed onto them. I’m no expert, but I have learned a lot during the past few years of creating sunflower art.

Trying to make a living by selling products with original artwork printed on them has been challenging, but rewarding. I hope to share what I’ve learned with you through this blog

The following is a list of the tools needed to create sunflower art. It may seem like a lot of stuff, but you will quickly notice that most of it can be used for other things as well.

Touch-Up Marker Pen – You need this pen to fix any mistakes you might make when coloring. The ink can cover up mistakes immediately, so you do not have to go back and color over them with the pencil crayons.

Pencil Crayons – This is where your sunflower art starts. The pencil crayons are the only thing you will use on your paper given the first light coloring in of the leaves, stems and petals.Blending Stumps – Once you have colored in your whole sunflower with pencil crayons and are happy with the way it looks, take out the blending stumps and lightly blend some of the lines together to give it a more natural look and feel.COPIC Multiliner SP – This pen is perfect for adding shading effects to your drawing and even does it automatically for you by adding different layers of color on top of each other. It is similar to watercolor painting techniques that use layers of paint one on top of another.

I am a sunflower artist and I create art out of sunflowers. I use the petals to create beautiful abstract art on paper. I have been making sunflower art for years and my artwork has been featured in publications like The Sunflower Art Magazine and many online sites. My first public showing was at the American Legion Hall, where my husband and I were members of the color guard. We also performed in the Kankakee County Fair as members of the color guard, where we placed first runner up.

I love creating my own unique, one of kind pieces of art using sunflowers. Each piece is created with passion and dedication that can be seen in every detail. This blog will be devoted to the creation of my work from beginning to end, including ideas, inspiration, flowers, supplies and more. Enjoy your visit!
