I saw a picture of this on the Internet and it really caught my attention. It is a large wall sculpture of an eye made from 2,084 pennies and it is absolutely amazing. This is what I call an “upcycling” project because the artist used something (pennies) that would have been thrown away and made it into something beautiful. I have always been a fan of upcycling projects, but I guess I didn’t realize just how much you could do with pennies. The artist, who goes by “Coppersmith” on Etsy where you can buy the sculpture for $1,150.00, says that it took him about nine hours to make the sculpture and he used a non-toxic adhesive to hold it together. The sculpture itself weighs 31 pounds and measures 34 inches tall by 43 inches wide by 40 inches deep. I think this is one of the most creative things I have ever seen made from copper wire, but if you look at his other works on Etsy, you will find many other interesting pieces as well.*Update: As of June 2017 this sculpture is no longer available for sale.*
