Classically Trained Illusionist Reveals Tips and Tricks on the Art of Illusion: a blog about illusions and tips from behind the curtain. In this post I will be sharing with you some stage magic secrets and illusions. This post is written by a professional illusionist, who has been in the industry for over 20 years, after tricking into his trade secrets.
A lot of my illusions and tricks are only meant to be performed on stage or in front of a live audience. Some people have commented that it would be cool if I could show how some of them were done since there is no way to fully understand how they were done unless you see someone perform them live. For example, one of my illusions is a card trick called the “Hindu Rope Trick.”
I’m going to start out with some basic tips on illusion design and then get into some more advanced material as this post progresses.
This entry is not intended to give away all my trade secrets, but rather to give you an insight into what I think about when designing new tricks or creating new illusions. If you are interested in illusion magic, then please keep reading.
Everyone knows that an illusion is not real magic; it’s just trickery. You need an audience that is willing

I get a lot of questions about making illusions or where I learned certain things. I hope this blog will answer some of the questions, and help inspire others to make their own illusions.
I have been in the magic business for about 12 years now. During that time, I have learned many tricks, tips and techniques to make illusions work. Some of them are very subtle and hard to explain, but hopefully this blog will be able to shed some light on the subject.
I take great pride in what I do as an illusionist and it is my hope that through this blog people will gain a better understanding of what goes into the process of making illusions. This blog will be very open to discuss everything from how to make illusions, types of illusions in magic, and even some of my favorite illusions that are not my own. I hope you enjoy it!**
The art of illusion is often misconstrued as a performance that is not to be questioned. People tend to think that the craft of illusion is based on smoke and mirrors, a mystical form of juggling that cannot be explained. However, this could not be further from the truth. The art of illusion, while it seems mysterious, is actually built upon a foundation of science and mathematics.
Tricks like “The Sawing in Half” or “The Vanishing Princess” fool the eye because they are based on principles of science and perspective that are relatively simple to learn when you know how to apply them. In fact, many illusions can be broken down into simple geometric shapes and basic math problems. By understanding these concepts and practicing, one can become a master illusionist in no time at all!
In this blog I hope to pass along my tips and tricks for creating illusions from the stage, so that anyone with an interest in magic can create their own visual spectacles. You will find easy-to-follow tutorials about how to design your own illusions for your home or classroom. We hope you enjoy learning about the art of illusion as much as we do!**\
It may seem like a strange or even uninteresting idea to create an illusion art website. However, the truth is that there are many people who find themselves extremely interested in this type of art. If you happen to be one of them and have ever wondered how illusionists are able to perform their tricks, then take a look at this site.
Tricks and illusions are something that both children and adults can get excited about, but it is important to remember that audiences will only be impressed by these things if they already believe that the trick is possible. In order for a trick to be successful, the audience has to think about what it knows about reality, as well as what it does not know about reality. The mind puts together all of the information that is presented and creates a story about what might reasonably be happening. When the trick occurs, it is because the audience expected something else to happen based on everything that they know about reality and was tricked into believing otherwise. When an illusionist creates an illusion piece, they have to take all of these things into account so that they can choose which elements will be part of their trick. Focusing on your audience and making sure that they understand what is possible in order for your trick to work will help you create an effective illusion
Mesmerism is a branch of stage magic; it’s the use of suggestion and influence to alter a person’s perceptions, causing them to experience things that aren’t really happening.

Have you ever been to a magic show and wondered how the magician pulled it off? What tricks did he use to create such an amazing illusion? You’re not alone. Making the impossible possible is what magicians do, but even they have tricks up their sleeves that aren’t readily apparent to the audience.
What is a magician supposed to do when he reveals his secrets, though? All of a sudden his tricks are no longer interesting, and no one wants to hire him for another performance. If there is anything magicians hate more than losing their jobs, it’s revealing the secrets behind their illusions. That’s why he spends years perfecting his act, mastering all the techniques necessary for engaging audiences and pulling off elaborate stunts.
A magician who is as skilled as Darren Brown will spend months planning out each stage of an illusion before it ever reaches an audience. He must be able to answer questions about every part of his act so that he can come up with new ways to do them all over again. This includes knowing exactly where he is going to hold a show, what kind of audience he will be entertaining, and what kinds of tricks will appeal most to them.
