Yule (pronounced YOOL) is the Anglo-Saxon name for the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. It is also called Midwinter, Christmas Eve and Hogmanay.

The Yule Log

It was the custom in England to carry a huge log into the house on Christmas Eve and light it to welcome in the season. After it burned down, part of it would be kept as an evergreen reminder of the season.

This practice is still continued today. The log is called a “Yule Log” or more commonly just “The Log”. The Yule Log is always burned at Christmas time and should be burned down to embers by Candlemas (2 February). In some countries, such as England, it is customary to roll the log from room to room throughout the house to protect it from evil spirits. It’s also customary for a single candle to be left burning all night so that visitors can tell that someone is at home.In Iceland, people jump over fires for luck on Christmas Eve. In Germany, gifts are put into socks or stockings that are then hung up for Father Christmas to deliver later.

A typical yule log will last 2 – 3 hours

The art of Pablo Picasso was a very good way to show the world his feelings. He had many paintings and a lot of them were about Christmas and family. His painting named “Au Lapin Agile” which means at The nimble Rabbit, is a picture of him dancing with all his friends. This picture shows how much fun he was having with all of his friends.

Picasso had many more paintings that were about Christmas and his family. One of them was named “Family of Saltimbanques”, this painting shows a father and a mother holding their son while they are eating dinner. The reason why Picasso made this painting was because he didn’t have a family when he was younger. He wanted to show people what it was like having a family, so he made this painting.

How you can manage your time to do all the things you have to do and still be able to work on your art? It is a difficult question for which there is no easy answer.

Picasso said, “If you have to choose between perfection and happiness, always choose happiness.”

In my case I am happy that I can paint everyday if I want to. To do that, I learned to organize my time.

I decided not to let anyone interfere with my schedule. I expect people to respect my priority of being an artist first before they are friends or loved ones.

I wake up at 5:00 in the morning and begin work immediately after breakfast. I work until noon, eat lunch, rest and recuperate for two hours, then get back to work by 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., break for dinner with family, relax for two hours then return for more work time from 9:00 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., take a short break then go back to work again from midnight until 2:00 a.m., then go to bed at 3:30 a.m.. This is the routine I follow Monday through Friday; weekends are for family and

Art makes us realize that the most precious thing about creation is that it was created. It enhances our appreciation for what God has done for us and causes us to reflect on how we should live in light of His glorious work. Art helps us worship and glorify God, which is why Christians should appreciate and support art, whether it be classical or contemporary.

The Bible gives many examples of how art was used to glorify God long before the birth of Christ. King David’s ark contained precious paintings and carvings (1 Chronicles 15:16). Throughout the Old Testament, God instructed His people to beautify their possessions with gold and silver so that they would be a delight to look at (Exodus 25:3, Exodus 35:34, Exodus 39:33-35, 1 Chronicles 29:2, Psalm 45:9). The tabernacle was decorated with beautiful tapestries and curtains woven with gold (Exodus 26:1-14). Solomon even decorated the temple with beautiful chains and jewels (1 Kings 7:45).

God commands Christians to follow His example by creating and displaying beautiful art that helps others worship Him. He tells us through Paul that we are “His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephes
