We have been given some great opportunities to work within the industry, including designing our own lighting line for a company in New York. We have had the opportunity to take part in numerous trade shows and have provided articles for various national magazines. Our goal from the beginning has been to share our love of lighting with everyone!

Once upon a time, in the land of movie posters, album cover art, and children’s book illustrations, the concept of “brightening your room” meant something different than it does today. Back then, lighting was more often a source of anxiety than a potential solution. The most common household lighting was a dim and flickering candle. For more light you might have an oil lamp with a wick that needed to be re-trimmed. And for the brightest light of all there was the sun — but even on a sunny day, it rarely makes sense to open your curtains to let all those hot photons fly into your living room.

Lighting may still seem like an afterthought in many places today, but attitudes toward it are changing quickly. With improved technology and new initiatives such as Energy Star-rated LED bulbs, options are improving all the time. And the benefits of using brighter light sources are plain to see.

But if you don’t know where to start or what type of lighting will work best for you and your home, where do you begin? Read on for everything you need to know about brightening your room with warm natural light.*

You could get the same effect by putting a few pieces of colored glass or plastic in the window. But that’s not the point. The point is to let your house express your personality and your taste with light fixtures that are as attractive as they are functional. In other words, you want something that’s not just functional, but beautiful too.

Tudor arch window lights are a great way to achieve that goal. They’re easy to install and are available in a range of styles and colors, which makes them perfect for any home.

They’re also relatively inexpensive compared to many other window lights on the market today, which means you don’t have to spend a fortune to brighten up your room with the warmth of natural light.

Did you know that one of the most important functions of your light fixtures is to bring life and joy to your home?

The right lighting can raise a room’s energy, create a pleasant mood, brighten your day and make you feel happy.

Here are some simple tips on how you can have a positive impact on the ambiance of your room using the right lighting.

Lighting is an important element of interior design. As a matter of fact, it is said that lighting can change the entire feel of a room, so choose wisely. Harsh, glaring light will not give your room a warm and cozy feeling, but soft and diffused light will make you feel right at home.

Finally, lighting should be chosen in accordance with the time of day for which it is intended; for example, bright lights are best for reading or working on your computer, whereas dimmer lights are better for setting a romantic mood or watching TV.

The two most common types of light bulbs are incandescent and CFLs. Incandescent are the ones you’ll find in your typical household lamps. They’re cheap and readily available. They also use a fair amount of electricity, which means they can be quite costly in the long run. CFLs (or compact fluorescent lamps) are more expensive to purchase but last much longer than incandescents, use less energy and cost less to operate over time. When you can’t decide between the two, consider these factors:*

Your choice will probably be based on price and availability rather than anything else. Even given those criteria, however, there are some important differences between the two that may influence your decision. The basic question is whether you’re looking for bright light or soft light.

Colored light bulbs are designed to emit colored light, not necessarily to increase or decrease brightness. If you want to increase or decrease the amount of light in a room, you need a different type of bulb. You can purchase colored bulbs with “soft white” characteristic (meaning they emit more yellow-orange light) or “bright white” characteristics (meaning they emit more blue-white light). The soft white bulbs will make the room appear brighter but won’t necessarily provide enough blue

It’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light, it’s all about the light…

Let there be Light.

Lighting is everything in a photograph. We can have a good photograph in our camera with a bad lighting job. A great photograph is usually accomplished by having a good lighting job. There may be exceptions to this but they are in the minority.

I have seen many photographs that were not properly lit. They just didn’t grab me because they didn’t have any life to them. It is like watching a movie with bad lighting. The story itself can be great but if the lighting is poor then you will not enjoy this film as much as you could have. I am sure most of us have been there at one time or another when we watch a movie and think how can someone even release this? Some movies are better than others but sometimes even big budget movies leave something to be desired when it comes to lighting.

Even though I pay attention to photography as often as I can I still think that some photos are just poorly lit whether due to inexperience or
