Todd White is an awesome artist. These are some of his paintings. I personally like the underwater city painting and the one with the giant praying mantis. The colors, texture and shapes are all fantastic in all of them.

These are just a few of his work, so be sure to check out his site for more at www.toddwhiteart.com

Art is the product of the creative impulse, but the creative impulse can be found everywhere. The medium may change, but the message remains the same. This message is usually a philosophical one, and it is most often communicated through an image.

In today’s society, art finds its home online in a number of different environments. We have websites that host galleries of artwork that can be viewed by anyone with an Internet connection. We also have blogs like this one, where artists can display their works for everyone to view. We have social networking sites like Flickr and DeviantART, which allow artists to showcase their works and connect with other artists who are interested in similar things.

The fact that there are so many different places for people to showcase their art shows how essential art is to society. Artists are able to create new things in order to push the boundaries of creativity and inspire others to do the same. Every time a new artwork comes along, it acts as a catalyst for progress and helps move civilization forward in some way or another.

The best part about art is that it does not discriminate based on age, race, gender or any other factor. Anyone who has something they want to express can do it through their own personal style of art whether it be photography or painting

The White House on fire, as viewed from the Capitol. By Constantino Brumidi (1805-1880).

The Library of Congress put this photo up on Twitter recently, and it’s one of the best things they’ve ever tweeted. It’s a great shot of the Capitol and White House as seen through the window at the north end of the Rotunda, looking out over Washington toward Maryland. The photo was taken in 1851 by an unknown photographer, but it was painted by Constantino Brumidi between 1855 and 1859.

Toward the left side you can see a corner of the White House burning, but it’s a little hard to make out. The entire foreground is filled with boats — mostly rowboats and a few sailboats — all tied up at the Capitol’s dock. The U.S. Navy Yard was located here from 1801 to 1869, and to get from there to the White House you had to cross the Potomac via this dock.

Actually, this is why I love this picture so much: it gives us an idea of what Washington looked like before L’Enfant laid out his grand plan for it in 1791-92 and before Pierre Charles L’Enfant (1754
