I am a self-taught artist with a BFA from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. I use traditional materials such as oil paint and graphite pencil along with new technology such as digital photography and computer imaging. I use this blog to share my work and my experiments with new tools and materials.

My art is about texture, color, form and emotion. I want it to be about more than just what it is a picture of and to give the viewer a feeling of joy or serenity or melancholy or any of the other emotions I feel when I look at nature. My goal is to have viewers look at my art, feel something and then say “that’s beautiful.”

I hope you enjoy my art!

www.artwebsites.com is an online resource for artists and art enthusiasts, providing inspiration and information across a wide range of art mediums.

Art Websites is a comprehensive online resource for artists, including free tutorials from professional artists, galleries, portfolios and so much more!’

The site also has articles about different art mediums, how to choose brushes, markers and paper and a gallery in which every week new artists are featured.

Tone:——-

I love color. I love how it brings light and warmth to a painting, how it can define form and bring character to a subject, how it can set mood.

Color is a craft as well as an element of art. A painter has many tools at his/her disposal to manipulate color: mediums with different viscosity such as oils, acrylics, and watercolors; special glazes and varnishes; solvents for thinning or removing material; and many more. It takes time to learn the properties of these tools and discover what they are best suited to. It’s always fun to experiment though!

This is a selection of websites created by artists. They are not art sites, they are blogs.

I am not an artist, so this is not a recommendation. I have just collected some links that I am interested in and that might be interesting for others as well:

I’m a painter and collage artist. I’ve been working in my studio creating art for over 20 years now. I work with mixed media, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, ink, colored pencils and pen and ink. You can see more of my artwork at http://www.etsy.com/shop/rkfigueroa.

I love to create art that is both abstract and representational. I also love to paint and draw faces. My artwork is available on canvas, wood panels, paper or archival surface giclee prints. I also have t-shirts and other items available on my etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/rkfigueroa

I have a degree in Fine Art from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell (BFA)

My name is Karl Kinstler. I am a digital artist and graphic designer from Las Vegas, Nevada. It was in 2000 that I created my first website with the intention of publishing my work online and keeping my friends and family updated on what I was doing. At that time, before social networks like Facebook, MySpace and Twitter became popular, the idea of an artist or creator having their own personal website was pretty novel.

In 2008, I decided to combine all of my artwork into one site and have since been posting new work on a weekly basis.
